Kathleen Parker: Eager to know the GOP field for 2012? I'm not.
The Washington Post ^ | March 6, 2011 | Kathleen Parker

Posted on 03/05/2011 10:35:57 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

This is doubtless heretical, but I'll say it anyway: I can wait to find out who the Republican presidential candidates will be.

To be clear, I said "can," not "can't."

Let's go further: I don't care who they'll be. At least not yet.

I don't care because it's only March 2011. President Obama's first term is scarcely half over, and the next election is 20 months away. Twenty months! Can you bear this conversation 24-7 for 20 more months?

ABC News in November produced a guide to Republican presidential contenders because, according to the network's Web site, the 2012 election was just two years away. Just? I've been tired of the 2012 elections since 2009.

Today the buzz is that Newt Gingrich won't be definitive. Politico reports that the former House speaker was supposed to make big news in Atlanta on Thursday and all we got was this lousy "oddly named" Web site: NewtExplore2012.com.

What can it mean? Is he running or isn't he? Not to be a spoiler, but I'd say he's running. I just don't care. Yet.....

Was there ever a time that someone took her seriously? And if so, why?

We need a tea party candidate, Trump nah, we don’t need a show,, Romney doesn’t inspire trust to the agenda we the people feel needs to happen, ie doesn’t have the nads to castrate the federal G and return power to the states, Newt maybe, have to consider, we need fresh meat in there with a track record of slash and burning deficits, some drill baby drill, lets put the military on the border, and onward to victory, forget the green crap it will not work yet..

Let me guess....there’s the obligatory catty snark about Palin somewhere in the remainder of the piece?

There was a time that I would click on the link and read the rest of Kathleens articles.

That time has long past.

I've been tired of the 2012 elections since 2009.

Funny you should say that seeing as how you were a has-been before you were even a never-was.

It would be good if the GOP and the TEA Party can bring economic pressure on these private sector media outlets. If the Left can attack FOX and its ad base, we can do the same to them. Don't buy from anyone who advertises in the Leftist media and let them hear loudly why we are not buying from them. Money talks. Lefties flee!

Pathetic. A media figger who quit a show nobody watched writing for a newspaper nobody reads commenting on a news website nobody frequents.

By this time 4 years ago most of dems were already in the race by the end of March!

GOP is dumb for not starting early like the dems, all the lost media of repeating how bad Obama’s economy is!

And to think Parker said she was glad to be leaving the Spitzer show to devote more time to writing.

I think she owes the Post some cash.

Knowing the GOP leadership's history of selecting candidates, I'm sure we will, again, have to vote for the better of two evils.

As for voting for a Tea Party candidate, how can we be sure they aren't TPCINOs (Tea Party Conservatives In Name Only)? It seems some of the, already elected, so called Tea Party members have begun compromising on budget items.

Parker is a pseudoRepublican and no conservative.

Kathleen Parker: "[I]t is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem." "Parker ... says something publicly that many of us have thought privately
but lacked the courage to say out loud - Palin should step down:"

"Kathleen Parker: After Interviews, Palin Should Bow Out"

Kathleen Parker: "Romney would bring more than squeaky clean qualifications
and youthful good looks to the ticket.
Romney would seem a logical choice."

"Parker: Romney raised bar on freedoms"
Kathleen Parker: "If Kennedy's speech was an important landmark in American political history,
Romney's was surpassing. With heartfelt humility and poetic eloquence,
he tracked the nation's struggle with and for freedom."

Staggering bigotry of Kathleen Parker - UPDATED"

You know I actually kinda agree with her on this one. I only read the excerpt above but honestly I can wait another couple of months before knowing whose running. It is a long way off still and I have faith in the Tea Party and all conservatives that its gonna be another shellacking for the democrats so I can be patient and wait.
