I voted in my very first election in 2000, voted proudly for Bush, didn’t regret voting for him then, didn’t regret voting for him again in 2004. I don’t know what has happened to the GOP, they behave like children, snickering behind each other’s backs, trashing each other. If they want to behave like children they can go back to the 3rd grade and act like kids, otherwise they should grow the hell up and defend their own party, their own fellow Republicans. Makes me wonder, if the Gipper were alive today, would the GOP defend him, or would they drag him through the mud. Its not just Sarah Palin, I’ve seen Republicans trash the tea party movement too..the same movement that got their butts elected in November, any loyalty there, NOPE..just more backstabbing

I did some old-fashioned phone fundraising for the Polk County GOP back in the 80’s and raised just North of $40,000 for Fred Thompson when he was in the game.

In 2004 with the war going on and such I cast my vote for Bush. I didn't do it with any feeling. I held my nose. In 2006 I knew the GOp was going to get destroyed. In 2008 I cast my vote for Palin. I was think how long can McCain last. he is old. Maybe he would retire early or something. I have not been proud of the gop in a long time. I keep hoping they will return to Reaganism but they are hell bent on going down the socialist lite route.

As far as what happened. It easy. The GOP become drunk on power. Now they attack anyone they think stands a chance of taking the rest of their power away from them and will do and say anything to get that power back. They care nothing about duty, honor and country.

I have hope some of the tea party backed candidates will return some class to the gop like Rand Paul, Alan West and others but not much hope.

the only way to really change the GOP is to elect a conservative as its leader and let her clean house.

I remember when Glenn Beck(Who Bill Kristol has gone after now too) said that the GOP would be soon taken over by the progressives, I thought “No way can’t be” its scary to think that could happen..seeing Meghan McCain say she is a “Progressive Republican” those two words shouldn’t even be together, progressives and the Democrats, yes, but NOT Republicans. I think the Republican party is too busy trying to be buddy buddy with Dems and have forgotten about US. I mean look at these people, at the State of the Union speech, they were all singing campfire songs together, what the hell was that..the same Dems who have trashed and I mean TRASHED the GOP every waking second they have, and here is the Republican party, sitting with the enemy, have they no shame at all. I dont know if they are doing this because they think if they act like this they will get some of the Democrat voters on their side or what. Ronald Reagan would be turning over in his grave today if he saw what has happened the GOP, turned in to a bunch of girly men
