Re #12:

A reasoned statement like yours deserves a reasoned response.

Again I can't speak for others, only for myself. But calling Sarah Palin, “THE MOST tenacious Constitutional conservative” is not far from the truth. One can make an argument that the “The Most” is subjective of course. But regardless Palin is a Constitutional conservative. She's a good lady. I happen to like her. My personal opposition to her stems from a belief that she won't win the nomination and can't win in the General Election. For that reason there are other Constitutional conservatives I would favor over Palin in the primaries. Make no mistake, if Sarah Palin wins the nomination not only will I vote for her but I'll put her bumper sticker in my window and her sign in my yard.

I recognize your right to express this opinion.

But it’s a bit of a challenge to relate to it. At times (though not necessarily with regard to yours in particular) this sort of response to Palin appears suspect, because the most common strategy in any campaign battle—without exception—is to deny your opponent’s electability.

Same was said about Reagan after he lost the GOP nomination in 1976. But a weak president that was unpopular because of his policies along with trouble in the Middle East helped Reagan win in 1980. And his message.

But Sarah Palin is not Reagan but not bad. She does lack his experience both in office and in the public eye. But she’s catching up on the latter.
