It was clear that recently-deposed former RNC Chairman Michael Steele’s appearance on Bill Maher’s Real Time would yield a colorful conversation, and looking back, it probably should have been obvious who would be a main focus of that discussion: Sarah Palin. Maher brought her up quickly, reminding Steele of an appearance on Maher’s show over two years ago when Steele predicted Palin-bashers would one day eat their words. Maher did not eat his words on this night.
“She does get a little harder to defend, does she not?” Maher asked Steele, following up with, “Between her and Michele Bachmann, I don’t know who knows history less.” Then, in a notable display of violent imagery (a week after staunchly advocating for gun control, if not for civility in political discourse), Maher said that “the knives are out for her,” as Republicans who once defended her can’t anymore,” because “she’s too stupid even for them.”
Steele tried to respond to that (and concurred with the “knives are out” sentiment), saying he could identify with being in a situation where saying one wrong thing (or being taken out of context) gets blown out of proportion, but Maher shot back that Palin “wasn’t asked a trick question, like ‘What do you read?‘” (They both had a good laugh at that one, for the record.) And both did seem to enjoy themselves – good news for Steele, since he’ll likely be making a lot of appearances like this one in the near future. Video of their exchange, via HBO, below.

As for Steele he can go the way of Arlen Specter and probably will. Bill Maher is an idiot who has no standing to judge Sarah’s intelligence as his own is so very limited.

Mr Steele was imo a very weak defender of conservative principles. A perfect caretaker for the RINO status quo. It’s only a matter of time before he stabs us in the back and makes it official.

You’re right on all counts, and Steele was a fool to go on ugly, hostile Maher’s sick and sorry show. Worse yet, Steele was never sharp enough to engage with the enemy-demonic-rats which is why he lost his job. Steele is nobody now, and will only play the part of the useful idiot, a role, regrettably, he’s suited for.

Instead of these Republicans going on shows and attacking Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and other Republicans, they should be focusing on who the REAL enemy is..the Democrats, but NO, they go on this sack of crap Maher’s show(Who is a bitter old pike of puke who even his ex girlfriend said was a racist punk) and trashes Sarah Palin, a woman who supported him..so what does that show her, just another person she can’t trust..that list has gotten pretty big these days hasn’t it..she can’t even trust those on the right to support her..its disgusting..imagine how she feels, having to write another name to that long list

Michael Steele, as well as Colin Powell, Karl Rove and a whole host of RHINOS and Country Club Elitists are, pardon the pun, irrelephant. Most all of the viewers of maher are CommieCrats, you know they already hate Sarah, no matter what the facts actually are.
May I suggest that, in terms of sheer numbers, we (fellow Freepers TeaPartiers and Conservatives) have a much bigger “audience” than the Moonbat media, only our meme has to go back to face to face communication in small groups.
If you've listened to El Rushbo for any length of time, you have heard him say (I'm paraphrasing now), that we (FreepTeaCons) have to be the people that our friends, neighbors, fellow workers go to when they have questions about politics and the events of the day. We probably won't change the minds of any Moonbats, but we can reach the far more “normal” American Citizens who are just not as politically aware as those of us who are FreepTeaCons.
Case in point, last fall a bunch of my neighbors and myself were gathered around the bonfire and the conversation turned to Sarah and how stupid she was, at which point it fell to me to set the assembled masses straight on just how much misinformation they were parroting from the 5th columnist commentators. When asked who I would vote for in 2012, I said I'd vote for Palin in a heartbeat. People were shocked, but they wanted to hear more. Somebody else spoke up for Sarah and the discussion that followed lasted for several minutes. In the end I just said “Don't just take my word for it, do the research yourself”. I'd like to think a few minds were changed, or at least pointed in the right direction.
Speak up, speak out, tell the people the truth!.
I think what is most telling is that they don’t even want her to enter the race because they know things change and that she’s not as much a non-factor as they are trying to claim. She’s the great threat and she needs to run because she will do a lot of damage to the Demonrat machine and RINOS. The fear is amusing to watch and this foam at the mouth hatred by these people. They are all so unhinged and I have to say I’m enjoying their panic. Can’t wait until she declares and watch the lunacy then and you think it’s bad now!

Good luck with that. All my dough has been going to Governor Palin. If she wants to support DeMint at some point, she can give him my money, but I do believe it will be the other way around.
Sarah Palin is a household word in midddle America,DeMint is a fine gentleman, but has no name recognition with the people, nor does he have their hearts as does Sarah Palin.
He also is not as battle tested, nor as qualified as Palin.
