Were now less than two years away from the next presidential election, which means its time for 2012 presidential speculation to begin! The first This Week of the year kicked off the talk with some of the biggest names on the Republican side, and George Will seems to have found through the litany of names what he called the Presidents secret weapon: Sarah Palins inability to be elected.
Asked by Jake Tapper (filling in for Christiane Amanpour) to evaluate the Republican landscape for November 2012, Will began by addressing the fact that Mike Huckabee had performed particularly well in the primaries in 2008 better than Mitt Romney and then added this salacious tidbit of speculation:
The Presidents secret weapon may be the Republican nominating electorate There is one person, high in the polls, Sarah Palin, who cannot be elected president because she cannot compete where elections are decided. In the collar counties outside Chicago, Montgomery County outside of Philadelphia just cant compete there.
He went on give some predictions based on the fact that nominees, he explained, tend to win the majority of electoral votes in the Mississippi Valley giving Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Sen. John Thune, and the suddenly-popular Gov. Mitch Daniels a leg up in that area.
It will be interesting to see if and when Palin confronts such derision, especially if this will set the tone for how pundits will discuss her chances for the rest of the year. While in 2010 two years removed she could afford to be glib about it over Twitter, her chances as she races the clock will increasingly depend on how presidential she can come across, that trait one that, using her behavior last year alone, may be easy to refudiate.

Will and Krauthammer can kiss my rosy red ass
With all due respect, that’s not his, or any one person’s, decision to make.
Then I guess she shouldn't bother trying, eh George? Or, maybe we should let the People decide... nah, too old fashioned.
Running to get popcorn and beer, be right back :)
But Huck, Mitt, or Mc Cain can. All I am going to say is that if they do, they will do it without my vote. I voted for Mc Cain in 2008 because he picked Sarah and to vothe against obama. if the Republicans insist on nominating another RINO, I just won’t vote for President. If that is construed as a vote for obama, so be it.
Next on the National RINOgraphic Channel
When RINO’s Attack!
Besides, Will's judgment is affected when toupee glue seeps into his brain.
Neither can JUAN. (nor the JUANnabies).
I want Palin to win just to shut the inside-the-beltway windbags up. People like Geroge will are so far removed from everyday life in fly-over country that they have NO IDEA what we want in a president.
I think they are gonna find out, though.
“George Will may be originally from Illinois but he hasn’t talked with any middle class people from flyover country in 20 years. He is part of the DC crowd, makes good money from his liberal masters and knows exactly how long his leash is.”

Nailed.
...unless she runs.
Really, do the libs, 'rats, and RINOs think they can avoid having to deal with Sarah if they can "scare" the rest of us into thinking she can't win? That's their strategy? That pre-emptive stop thing didn't work out for SkyNet, it isn't going to work for the libs/rats/rinos - Sarah is coming!
Well, I guess it’s decided then. Might as well pack up and go home. Who ARE these arrogant elitists and why exactly should we listen to them? Because they write a column and are on several alphabet channel political panels??
A likely illegal alien can be elected president, but an America from Alaska can’t?
Will and Krauthammer ought to retire. Their usefullness as political commentators is at an end.
Sarah isn’t establishment, and she is a Christian, two counts against her in Will’s book.
Will seems pretty intent on keeping Obama in the White House. He should stick to his passion: baseball.
Or maybe not.
The left has a great track record. Of being dead-ass wrong.

These elitists are absolutely part of the problem. Either they are so out of touch they truly cannot fathom that the media will rip those two losers to shreds and allow Obama another term, or they are simply working for the left.
It's well past time to put these losers out to pasture and rebuild the Republican party for conservatives, or abandon the Republican party and start backing a new party that will back the interests of their constituents. The current makeup of the federal government revolves around self interest and the Republicans and dems, at least the overwhelming majority of them, do not look out for the best interests of American citizens, IMO.
I stopped reading George Wills about fifteen years ago, now I remember why?
