GOP: Will no one rid us of this troublesome Palin?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | December 3, 2010 | Cynthia Tucker

Posted on 12/03/2010 10:08:22 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin is a serious problem for the Republican Party. She is making several moves that suggest she will seek the presidency in 2012, even though it’s quite unlikely she could win a general election.

He negatives her high. Nearly half of Americans have an unfavorable view of her; only 22 percent view her favorably. Furthermore, the vast majority don’t believe she is electable. Though she recently told Barbara Walters she would defeat President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup, most Americans disagree. Sixty percent don’t think she would win.

But Palin has an adoring base that would make her queen for life if possible. She attracts huge crowds; she raises enormous amounts of money; she has resurrected candidates from the dead and turned them into winners. All that suggests that she could win the GOP presidential primary in 2012, especially in a very crowded field.

Rational Republicans have taken a look at that dynamic and begun to fret. And, suddenly, many are speaking out — criticizing Palin publicly. That’s something they were wary of doing until quite recently, since her loyal troops would extract a price.

Barbara Bush recently said that Palin should stay in Alaska: “I sat next to her once, thought she was beautiful, and I think she’s very happy in Alaska. And I hope she’ll stay there.”

GOP consultant Ed Rollins wrote about her: “The Reagan comparisons aren’t helping. You might as well compare yourself to Abraham Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt.”(continued)

God, who writes this crap, and who is the idiot paying for it?

Barbara Bush is a spokesperson for all GOP people? Suuure. And Ed Rollins. He’s a real barometer of the mood of the rank and file. He’s a commentator, paid by the liberal media, so where are his allegiances, I wonder. Just like that so-called Republican who got fired by PBS, Juan Williams.

There may be a grain of truth in here, which is that there are those in the GOP that want rid of Palin. Romney and Huckabee, to name just two. LOL! This isn’t about the monolithic GOP, it is about the forces of liberalism and conservatism battling for control of the party. Liberals have completely taken over the Democrat party, and the Republican party is the next target. RINO’s are what we call liberals trying to take over the Republican Party. You can see they have made significant progress. Speaking of Barbara Bush, she’s one of the hard-line conservative Bush family of liberal-leaning Republicans.

Did you see that unemployment officially went up to 9.8% (which means it’s really 20-25%) at Drudge?

I wonder if Cynthia Tucker is aware she’s in effect quoting a line calling for the assassination of Palin?

But Zero has an adoring base that would make him king for life if possible. You're part of that base, Tucker...tell us what it is like.

This broad Tucker is a dyed in the wool leftist. If these people are worried at the big mistake the GOP is making with Sarah, you now you have a winner. I guess she would like us to draft Olympia Snowe as our nominee because she likes her brand of Conservatism.

The look on Cynthia’s face shows that she indeed writes for The Atlantic Journal Constipation.

Someone needs to remind Mr. Tucker that McCain-Palin won Georgia in 2008. The bisexual muslim socialist from Kenya is toast in the swing states and the liberals and rinos know it.

Does anyone know of any recent heads up polls between Palin and Obama? I did a search, and the last one I could find is last April. I find it interesting they are asking people “do you think Palin can win”, but not would you vote for her over Obama.

Is there a cogent thought lurking somewhere is Ms. Tucker’s brain? If there is, she does a very good job of keeping it hidden. Diagnosis: PDS.

15-20 years ago, I thought Ms. Tucker was pretty hot.

That was before I gave up hallucenogenics.

Yes I did, which means that all the hand waving by a liberal newspaper is trivial.

Entertaining, but trivial.

I think the disapproval numbers have more to do with the effictiveness of comedy writer/delivery than actual polical appeal.

It's all about the swing states. The liberals and the rinos will use the national head-to-head polls for their own purposes. What matters is the state-by-state, head-to-head polls.

Wow! I didn’t realize that. Thanks so much Cynthia. You’ve always promoted the best interests of the Republican Party and conservatism in general.

Thank Heaven for the AJC and Cynthia Tucker!
