Yep. He’s the Scott Brown of the month. His talking tough to the teachers unions mat be entertaining, but it is more that than consequential. What he actually has to show for it is minimal, and it probably reveals a jerky personality more than anything.
(from the New Yorker)
He declined Palins offer to stump for himhave endeared him to members of the GOPs sane wing. The breakthrough hes scoring in New Jersey is hugely promising, says David Frum, a conservative writer who fears that the Republican Party is being swallowed by the tea party.
Christie is also moderate enough that they know he will not be easily consigned to the Tea Party tea chest when the going gets rough if he decided to run.
For a lot of Republicans, Conservatism is just a political strategy! ...not a set of core beliefs.
“He is not to be trusted”
I can’t imagine being allowed to become Governor in New Jersey..without a skeleton or two somewhere to assure “control” ....
Agree.
Telling the Teachers' Union to pound salt and freeze hiring was more than "something."
He is a Rockefeller RINO to the core.
We still don't know exactly what Christie is or isn't. He seems to be a fiscal bear. I'm not going to characterize him as a Rockefeller RINO just yet, nor climb all over his s*** just for rolling his eyeballs over question regarding a Palin candidacy.
Let's give the guy more time before declaring him a Statist and Globalist.
