I’m surprised we have one or two people who admire Guiliani. I was one of the Guiliani folks who managed to escape purging. I lived in NYC in the ‘90s and can attest to his excellent service to our city. I don’t agree with him on abortion either but he would have made an excellent president (although my husband says he ran a lousy campaign). I truly think it’s too late for him now. The Divine Sarah has stolen his thunder!

I have always liked Rudy. I can’t help it. He would have been light years better of a candidate than McCain.

I think there are still a bunch of us around who held our tongue. Those who spoke out got the boot. There were views I couldn't agree with (abortion, gun rights) that made him unacceptable on here and as the party's candidate for President. But his actions as prosecutor and mayor (before, during and after 9/11) earned him my admiration. IIRC he believed it was his dury to attend each and every funeral of a fireman and police office who died in the 9/11 attacks. That alone puts points up in his favor. His time as a candidate has passed but in spite of his flaws, I can't help but like and respect the man.
