Thanking Democrat Ambition For Giving The Win To O’Donnell In Delaware: Hell hath no fury...
Red State ^ | October 29, 2010 | Dave Poff

Posted on 10/28/2010 10:44:38 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

A friend suggested tonight, in light of the story published anonymously (and in exceedingly poor taste) about a bawdy night with Christine O’Donnell (allegedly), that Democrats just can’t help themselves. I agree.

I’ll not offer the link here, in the name of good taste, but Google is your friend and it won’t be very difficult to find these allegations. More importantly, spend a little time reading beyond the original trainwreck itself; many many people are not impressed, and a dramatically large number of them are women.

To name a few:

Via The Daily Caller: NOW defends Christine O’Donnell against Gawker’s “slut-shaming”

Via Michelle Malkin: The Gawker smear machine: A refresher course

Via The Huffington Post: O’Donnell’s “Hook-Up:” Gawker’s in the Wrong

Via POWIP: Gawker’s Christine O’Donnell Hit Piece

Via JoshuaPundit: The Democrats Create A New Low; ‘I Had a One-Night Stand With Christine O’Donnell’

There are more, but you get the idea. There’s something not being said though, that I can’t help but noticing and passing along here…this childishness (and blatant disregard for the very privacy they rail from the rooftops every day to defend) is going to have the reverse effect of that which was intended…and it is going to help guarantee the very thing they are high five-ing themselves right now thinking they have prevented; Christine O’Donnell is sure to win this election now, after today’s events.

Having been down by as many as 20 points or better, Rasmussen recently had O’Donnell somewhere within 11 points of Coons. More recently, an internal poll, published by the HillBuzz, suggests she might be as close as 5. Whatever the MoE is for the poll almost doesn’t even matter; Democrats are losing women in droves this cycle. Obama has even had to send the Missus out there to beg women not to leave him. Even worse for the Democrats…especially after today’s disaster…many of the women were planning to stay home out of anger, frustration, and an overall lack of enthusiasm…now, they’re going to come back to the polls with a vengeance-and it’s Liberal heads they’ll be coming after.

As the O’Donnell camp’s official response points out:

“From Secretary Clinton, to Governor Palin, to soon-to-be Governor Haley, Christine’s political opponents have been willing to engage in appalling and baseless attacks — all with the aim of distracting the press from covering the real issues in this race,” said O’Donnell spokesman Doug Sachletben. [snip] In its statement released Thursday night, her campaign also pointed out that the National Organization for Women condemned the piece. “NOW repudiates Gawker’s decision to run this piece. It operates as public sexual harassment,” said NOW president Terry O’Neill. “And like all sexual harassment, it targets not only O’Donnell, but all women contemplating stepping into the public sphere.”

While exactly right, this statement is missing the follow-on sentence: “Democrats have pretended to champion women’s issues for generations, and never have they shown more contempt for Women than they do here, tonight, with this offense against the whole of the gender and everything we’ve been fighting for our entire lives.”

O’Donnell has been bloodied and cleaved in this campaign over everything BUT what she stands for and what she means to do when she gets to Washington. This foolishness tonight only solidifies what some of us already knew; she’s a threat to them, and now that they realize they’re about to lose to her all the same, they’re getting desperate like the Frat freshmen a lot of us have always known them to be.

Trouble is, they’ve pee-ohed the wrong demographic.

[update: my comment at the offending site has been been blocked by the offending site's Admins. All I said was "thanks for giving O'Donnell the win", and suggested they might not have thought this one through all that well. Where's the harm in that? I was nice about it, and I didn't even swear!]

Interesting. Rush claimed on his radio show today that an internal poll has Christine ahead in this Senate race. Rush claims that’s the real reason Obama and Biden are spending so much time in Delaware. I hope he’s right! Joy Behar will have a meltdown if O’Donnell pulls out a win.

Christine, on Hannity tonight, talked about the people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, who are first-time voters, because they've never had anyone to vote for in Delaware. Pollsters would have had no way of contacting these first-time voters.

O'Donnell is going to win this thing.

Ann Coulter said tonight there was no race she wanted more than COD. I totally agree.

they just can’t help themselves. that sounds familiar. eventually, they were bound to go too far, and there would be a backlash. it makes no sense to me, though, because it seems that they could’ve just not done this.

I believed her when she said that. It makes sense, and it lines up with the tea party. I saw someone who looked like they were going to win on Hannity.

You know, at the end of the day, average people should say to themselves, "how dare those liberal scumbags attack a woman like that" and "man up" (even if a woman!) and send another online contribution to Christine O'Donnell so she can really vanguish those bastards come Election Day.

Even $5 online, as a protest message, in the form of a contribution to Ms. O'Donnell.

We should all do something for her in light of these attacks, no matter how small. Just as a message of disgust (for them) and support (for her).

It will turn out as a net plus for Christine for sure. No matter how nasty and dirty it is. And her grace under fire, also speaks volumnes.

They are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at her. But she remains calm and takes the fire, and returns in kind. Kinda reminds me of Palin and the hell she went through.

CHRISTINE O'DONNELL IS GOING TO WIN THE SENATE RACE IN DELAWARE IN THE LAST MOMENTS OVER THIS AND BY AND LARGE IT WILL BE WOMEN VOTERS WHO DO IT FOR HER.

It 'use' to bother me in how they would attack Sarah Palin .. until I saw how she would Handle Them and I do mean Handle!

the polls have indicated that christine has not been as strong with women as with men. this definitely could move a bunch of women to Christine.

Very early on I discovered that Chris Coons' appearances on the internet had been severely edited. It takes some sort of "connection" to get that done ~ so that Google.com doesn't pick up certain pictures or classes of pictures.

Here's what's missing when you look for Chris Coons (by any name you wish):

Pictures of him with animals (not just gerbils, but all of 'em).

Pictures of him with young women.

Pictures of him with children (except those purported to be his own).

Pictures of him with young men in suits or speedos (which is totally strange ~ why did his friend think to hide those ~ doesn't the gay vote count anymore?).

Pictures of him with politicians (again, totally bizarre ~ until recently every elected Democrat in America had a picture of himself with Teddy Kennedy ~ I couldn't find a Tedso picture).

And, most amazing, Coons has a bare minimum of pictures of himself anywhere OUTSIDE his office by his desk ~ which suggests he has NO LIFE ~ gad!

Well, knowing that Coons obviously has a "friend" somewhere who can manipulate even Google.com, I think we can run this "anonymous" business right back up the ol' poop chute to the very belly of the Coons campaign team.

This is worth further research Fur Shur!

The science behind polling tells us that it's actually extremely accurate, if they can accurately model turnout. That is, in a general population that matches the poll's weighted sampling, polls are extremely predictive.

In a year like this, it's quite possible that actual turnout completely blows away any existing models -- it's not that the polls themselves were "wrong", they would simply have been weighted to incorrect assumptions.

That hit piece on O’Donnell is the female counterpart to the Conway ad vs. Rand Paul in KY and will have the same result. Frankly, beyond being tacky and desperate, it’s adolescent. And we already have enough adolescents running the government in DC, starting at the White House.
