“The conventional wisdom is that once the Democrats have their heads handed to them, Palin becomes the frontrunner for the 2012 GOP nomination...”
Well, I think that’s true.
“President Palin”, yes, it has a wonderful ring to it.
Both sides will be out in full force and fired up in 2012. We’d best put our best out there and that is looking like Gov. Palin to me.
President Soros is going to be busily turning out the leftist base.
And, yes, since Palin has taken the lead in stopping the runaway O train, and since Palin has taken the lead in trying to get conservatives elected, however it turns out next week, she is probably going to be the next president.
There is still time for other Repubs to find their nerve and get into the fight in time to be “viable” come primary season. But she was in O’s face from day one.
Like nobody's business. But it would also turn out the conservative base. Independents are the unknown.
They tried the same crap with Reagan. Didn’t work.
Rats turned out in large numbers to vote against Bush in 04...but conservatives turned out more.
Conservatives were terrified of the thought of a President Obama...but were outdone by the excitement of the left.
Point being, enthusiasm trumps fear. People are more likely to vote FOR somebody rather than AGAINST (though I suspect the anti-Obama vote will be substantial in 2010.)
