Anonymous Palin-Bashing Romneyites: Is that You, Steve Schmidt?

Romney-ites attack Palin--anonymously, as is their wont

TIME’s Mark Halperin claims that some unnamed Romney staffers goofed on Sarah Palin. Was one of them ex-McCain head, Steve Schmidt? Is Schmidt auditioning for a job in 2012? Does the Pope wear a beanie?

ROMNEY’S CUTE ATTACKS CONTINUE

IT’S ALWAYS AN “UNNAMED AIDE” WHEN ROMNEY ATTACKS PALIN

Is Uber-RINO political operative, Steve Schmidt, working undercover for the Romney campaign these days?

Who else but former sour grapes-munching McCain staff losers–quite a few who were swooped up by Mittsy-boy Romney–would have dreamed up the following?

From Beyond Palin: Assessing the Rest of the GOP Presidential Field:

Still, few express much regard for Palin’s ultimate chances. One adviser to Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, and, by traditional standards, the putative 2012 frontrunner, says of Palin,

“She’s not a serious human being.” Another Romney intimate warns, “If she’s standing up there in a debate and the answers are more than 15 seconds long, she’s in trouble.”

One of the most experienced Republican national political operatives in the country suggests that while Palin might be envied and sleek, she lacks the endurance required for a protracted nomination fight. “She’s like a cheetah. She can run really fast, but not really long.”

Conservatives4Palin immediately returned fire.

A caveat: the Time piece was by Mark Halperin, so who knows how much of what he was told he’s stashed away for his next book written on his employer’s dime? Anyone who can selectively edit out any mention on the campaign trail of the John Edwards scandal–and then turn around months later and sell the story he wouldn’t tell when it would have made a difference–has some mad word-chopping skillz.

But back to Schmidt, et.al….

Tammy Bruce has the right idea (via Quote of the Day).

(VIDEO AT LINK)

As Allah points out, “This comes from a show recorded on Monday. It isn’t a reply to today’s kerfuffle — although, for some readers, it’ll sure seem prescient.”

Schmidt, who added the 2008 McCain campaign to his almost perfect record of losing campaigns he’s managed, has developed his own little cottage industry of being the go-to RINO for a anti-Sarah Palin quote.

From Mike Huckabee and 2012:

….“we should put our most articulate guy. Huckabee’s that guy.” Schmidt, who has traded barbs with Palin since the election, said, “There’s no one who really provides a better contrast to Sarah Palin, showing her as an entertainer instead of a serious thinker—and there’s not enough oxygen for both of them.”

But seriously: who would listen to anything Schmidt had to say unless he was attacking Palin? It’s become his schtick to access the Mainstream Media hacks who wouldn’t give him the time of day unless he were engaged in Palin-bashing.

So is Steve Schmidt auditioning for a job in 2012?

Readers can come to their own conclusions and figure out for which team the unique political stylings of Steve Schmidt are best suited.

And if Schmidt isn’t one of Halperin’s unnamed sources on the Romney campaign?

Schmidt better ring up his former buddies and tell ‘em to butt out.

They're trespassing on his political territory.

Any Repub who sees Palin as more a threat than Obama is simply not qualified for any serious consideration. Palin takes on Obama every day. She gets up every day thinking about how to stop Obama. The Romneyites and Hucksters get up every day thinking about how to stop Palin.

Neither Huck nor Romney will ever be president. They don’t have what it takes.

My short list is Palin, DeMint, Bachmann, and Ryan. Huck and Romney aren’t even in the game.

Romney is a coward who hides behind the skirts of others. John Edwards has more character than Romney.

When Republican candidates attack each other, they lose my support. Of course Romney never had my support to begin with! If candidates cannot build their campaigns upon their honest intentions to better the country they tend to get down and dirty, and who needs that in the White House?

"“She’s not a serious human being.” Another Romney intimate warns, “If she’s standing up there in a debate and the answers are more than 15 seconds long, she’s in trouble.” "

Funny to me that Sarah usually delivers her speeches off the cuff, or with minimum notes. She even winged most of the VP acceptance speech last year when the prompter went off.

Romney is running scared of Sarah, just like the rest of the RINOs. Even she wasn't a threat to him, he wouldn't even mention her. He's just trying to keep the "little woman", in "her place"...ya know.

I'll bet he thought of those lines while in the barber chair getting a "style".

Romney share some key attributes with obama:
1. He's a showboat;
2. Both created healthcare that nobody wants and will end in a bust.
3. Neither will be elected in 2012.

“She’s not a serious human being.”

The elite definition of a serious person is one who is able to answer a question without stating a position or in any other way answering the question. By that definition Palin is not serious.

A Tea Party definition would be a person who believes in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution and who is willing to risk everything to defend them. By that definition, Gov. Palin is a very serious human being.
