Lastly we have the Tea Baggers who with their pitch fork carrying followers make up a rag tag group of libertarians, anti Federal government zealots, what is left of the radical militias and just plain angry old retirees who have nothing else to do with their lives. As far as the Militia groups, I am not sure where they fall. These are the folks who brought you the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal building.

With this, he outed himself as a full-on irrational lunatic.

"lastly there is the new phenomenon lead by the angry citizens called the Tea Baggers..."

This is where I stopped reading. We are NOT 'Tea Baggers'. We are 'Tea PARTIERS'. The nasty moniker was placed on us by folks from the MSM who actually knew what that meant when they said it.

. . . . Even those right wingers who rose to prominence in the party were not obsessed with gay rights and even abortion then was not a big deal. The big deal was taxes and the size of the Federal government. . . . . .

I was politically aware at this time.

Ronald Reagan was actively and outspokenly Pro-Life.

There was not a whole lot of talk about Gay Marriage or Homosexual rights, because at that time, the Perverts had not made as many inroads into our culture and it really wasn't on the radar as much as it now.

It is easy to understand why a limp-wristed gerbil like Reid would align with the party of partial-birth abortion, fisting, bath houses, and communism - - he is right at home there. Normal America is about to do some serious cutting out of the Democrat cancer come November, and this has Reid wetting his big-boy underpants.

(By the way, for somebody who claims to remember 1964, this guy Reid writes like a Daily Collegian freshman. Notice how he childishly tries to push all the buttons by using the phrase “tea baggers” again and again, and blaming the Oklahoma City bombing on “militias”? He’s pathetic.)

That's exactly right. Reid may as well get nostalgic that back in the '60s and '70s people weren't battling over Macs and PCs. What a buffoon.

What a fruitcake his premise is there are dems or blue dog dems but they are completly united? As if, let’s see the dems are made up of radical communists, socialists, the gay rights crowd, global warming nuts, the anti war cindy sheehan code pink types, liberals, progessives, pro choice, feminists, pro illegal crimigrant amnesty, union thugs and the list goes on and on.
I often wonder if they write this type of drivel to convince themselves

There are certainly reasons to be upset with the GOP but none that are contained in this stupid article.
Ditto.

My first reaction to this was, “Who is Bob Reid?” I googled and didn’t find a Wikipedia entry on him or any references in the first couple of pages of Google search. The only place I could find him was on the referenced web site, and none of his articles had any comments.

I am afraid if the republicans win in November we’re going to see more of the same. McCain will go right back to being what he’s always been and so will the rest of them. I sometimes think it might be best to lose big in November. That’s going to be the only way to get rid of the Rockefeller Republican party once and for all.

Here's something he fails to mention. The grassroots group which grew and prospered before Reagan's first term as POTUS was The Moral Majority. It's founders were from GOP {Paul Weyrich}, DEM {Jerry Falwell}, and Independent {Howard Phillips} political parties. They united the conservative movement which helped Reagan and set the course for the GOP congressional majority to come later.

It was when the GOP abandoned those roots and origins it then became just another faction of The Socialist Democratic Party. The current GOP has no conservative traits in it from any side of the earlier GOP. Early 1960's Democrats were far more conservative than todays GOP leadership. Somehow I doubt the GOP could ever become too liberal for the writer of the article and truth be known I bet he voted Johnson, McGovern, Carter, for POTUS.

I am glad the long hypocrisy is ending. People like this author are not my “friends and fellow Amricans with whom I disagree on policy matters”.

They are the enemy; an existential threat to the lives, liberty and prosperity of present and future generations.

Freedom cannot coexist with statist people or parties.
