The wife of freshman Democratic Congressman Walt Minnick, A.K. Lienhart Minnick, handed out the first-ever Not Sarah award Saturday morning at the Idaho State Democratic Convention at the Coeur dAlene Casino in Worley. The award was given to the partys vice-chair Jeanne Buell, also of Worley, for her work within the party.
Minnick, giving a speech to the Womens Caucus at the convention, said that Buell is someone who inspires other women without saying you betcha, a phrase for which Republican superstar Sarah Palin is known. Minnick praised Buell for being someone who is well-read, inspiring, and actively working to improve the Idaho Democratic Party.
Minnick encouraged the women to pass the award around to others on a yearly basis, which Buell promised to do next year.
Checked the pic at the link ... this should be the “Damn well ain’t ever gonna be Sarah” award.
“By the way, that was my old Tagline before Savage ever said it.”
Check out G. K. Chesterton from a hundred years ago.
“And pure stupidity, as it was Tina Fey, NOT Sarah Palin, who made that statement about Russia. Seems the jealous, DemocRAT women cant separate truth from Hollywood.”
There was a time when it was possible to be a Democrat and a decent person.
That time is long past.
To quote Labrador:
I get along with people from both sides of the aisle.
Otherwise, he seems to be ok. I can't find any specific instances of him trying to keep illegal Mexicans here. I haven't voted for any democrat in my life, and I shouldn't start now.
Liberals are funny critters. They always struggle to determine what exactly they are, kind of like Clinton being the first black president. Now they seem to be finding a way to determine what they aren’t.
There is no mistaking that she’s not Palin- she’d make an onion shed tears. What a tacky award too, looks like it was made by a kid in grade school.
What a b!%$h.
I get along with people from both sides of the aisle.
That worries me, too. It tells me either (a) he doesn’t realize what evil slime the dims are, or (b) he’s fibbing to try and get more votes.
Still, I will never vote for a demonrat.
Maybe Minnick will be fine on the majority of the votes-—what worries me are the votes he will be with Pelosi on and that he’s just one more seat keeping Pelosi and the Dems in the majority. As for Labrador’s remark, I don’t interpret that to mean he’ll be an across the aisle voter. Only that he has friends who are Democrats. Most of us do. That doesn’t mean I’d ever vote for a Democratic proposal were I in Congress, unless somehow it was based on solid conservative principles which is damned unlikely with the far left crew running Congress nowadays.
Anyway, I appreciate your openness on this and your willingness to reconsider without becoming combative. I apologize if I was at all overbearing.
I’m just passionate about the idea we have to make Dems pay a steep price this November for the extremist agenda they’ve inflicted on the country. Minnick’s seat is just one of many seats we need to take to inflict that punishment and to send the message that needs to be sent to Pelosi this fall. He may not be the Dem most worthy of taking a beating at the polls, but he’s a means to the end of sending Pelosi to the political woodshed in the fall.
Oh, I was all ready to get “combative”. I always am when I am sure I am right. This time, however, I was wrong and didn’t have a leg on which to stand. I couldn’t find anything bad about Labrador except for that line, so I was forced to be nice and concede. Hell, maybe I was just looking for an excuse not to vote for a dem. Yuck. I have officially changed my stance on Labrador - he has my vote, and you have my thanks.
Thanks America. You’re a stand-up guy. Not many people on FR will admit when they’re wrong. Takes a big man to admit it and to be willing to change their mind. I’m impressed you went searching for the facts before coming back at me. You’ll be well-remembered with me my friend. Proud to know you. And I’m serious about that.
Gut wrenching, pant-soaking terror, actually.
And it's coming from the soon-to-be-extinct species known as "Democrats in power".
Delicious.
“Im just passionate about the idea we have to make Dems pay a steep price this November”
I am passionate about the idea that we must drive the left completely out of public life. They must once again be relegated to the lunatic fringe, a small and powerless cabal of moonbats.
