Telling the truth is now trashing someone? Hmmmm. Yes, he did play a major part in defeating the Soviet Union, I know, I was there. But we mustn’t deny facts because they're uncomfortable. He did sign an abortion bill and an amnesty bill and vilifying me won't change history.

He didn't trash anyone, he related the truth.

Reagan truly believed the abortion bill would lower the number of abortions.

The Democrats used his bill to increase abortions. He was truly upset and sorry after seeing how the bill was used.

He, as everyone on FreeRepublic knows, also signed an Amnesty Bill with tough enforcement provisions.

Once again, the Democrats in our Federal Government and some Republicans, being the evil little twits they are, allowed the Amnesty to go through, and refused to enact or enforce the enforcement provisions.

I'm with 2ndDivision Vet on this one. His point is that self-righteous conservatives are our own worst enemies. The practice of picking the mythical perfect over good is like urinating in a fan. You may feel better, but you have splattered everyone around you and made everything much worse.
