Mr. Heffernen at Esquire Magazine is an idiot, which is what I'd expect. Mr. Weigel at the Washington Post makes a little more sense.

This person thinks Palin isn’t challenged in the press?

So she can hide from the press, ignore questions, or remain silent, and tell her version of the story without fear of it being challenged.

More liberal projection. Mr. Heffernen is describing Obama to a T. The humor is that he doesn't even see it. What a maroon.

the only ‘reason’ the press has given Sarah an ‘easy time’ since removing herself as governor is that, as a private citizen, she can counter sue, sue for liberal, and file frivolous lawsuits against those attacking her

if you want to see someone that the media has fawned over like a teenage boy over a super model... just look at 0bama. they won’t dare ask any questions, correct him on anything, or point out how blatantly anti-American his statements are

Evidently David Weigel thinks The Zero is prissy enough to use feminine pronouns when discussing him/her.

It is funny that anyone thinks she gets friendly press. These people fall all over themselves looking for some kind of angle to do yet another hatchet job.

She doesn't owe them anything. She should just do what she does. Say what she wants to say, and say it to the people she wants to say it to, and let the media dorks have their usual conniptions. No one cares what they think; I don't read what they think except out of a morbid curiousity and that just so I can mock it.

(The immediate populist approval of her notes-on-her-hand moment was a surprise even to me.)

Why? She wrote four things on her hand and spoke articulately and well for forty five minutes. We have a president who can't do that. I can't do that. Most preachers can't do that, and most politicians can't.

But the press is never more bloodthirsty, more investigative, more prone to go for the throat than when its prey is a presidential wannabe. Reporters may act like obedient pups now; in 2012, they’ll be a pack of Cujos.”

What a truly laughable and ludicrous statement. So we are to believe that the most investigated and attacked politican in recent times still has a whole plethora of undiscovered secrets just waiting to be discovered by the LSM. LOL! The current reporting class couldn’t manage a piss up in a brewery if their life depended on it. Journalism doesn’t exist let alone the investigative variety. If they honestly tried the latter with Gov Palin their faces would be redder that a baboon’s ass.

Mr. Heffernen at Esquire Magazine :”It's easy, and not incorrect, to accuse the mainstream press of giving Palin an easy time these days, as Sullivan does.”

Mr. Heffernen's other beliefs.

LIAR!! What more do they want to know - they already know what toothpaste she uses. They haven't mentioned any other possible candidate because they FEAR NO ONE ELSE but SARAH.

LIAR! They don't even know where BHO was born. They don't care to know anything about him.

GO SARAH - keep the dingbats squirming!

Palin is such an unconventional politician that even her supporters don’t know what she’s going to do next. But it’s funny watching her torment her tormentors.

David Weigel and Tim Heffernen are beyond delusional. They very likely despise Sarah Palin - who represents the middle class lefties love to pretend to care so much about - but want us to believe that because she doesn't hold an elective office at the moment the national press corp is 'giving her a pass'. Yeah, right. What he really means is that the national media haven't even begun to go after Mrs. Palin.

Sarah Palin has been scrutinized, vilified and mocked all over the media for going on two years. Obviously, there are no latent scandals in her life or they would have been trumpeted far and wide, for months on end, by now. The leftmedia sees constantly calling Sarah Palin an 'idiot' (in so many words) has had some negative effect on her poll numbers but that she still won't go away, shut up or try to mollify the implacable leftmedia, who are determined to do to her what they've done to other conservative politicians in the past - destroy them. Usually by digging up fake 'scandals', like the Valarie Plame farce, based almost entirely on lies, and the 8-year assault against President Bush that pretty much made a majority of Americans believe he was the worst president in modern times, even though unemployment ranged from 4.5 to 5% during almost all of Bush's two terms and the GDP was better than anything the Obama administration has been able to show.

Unfortunately, a wrongheaded strategy of ignoring the leftist attacks and Bush's inarticulateness combined to help the left and their media lackeys convince Americans that Bush was a failure. They expect they'll be able to do the same thing to Sarah Palin, if she dares to run for president in 2012, something the left seems to palpably fear, and with good reason.

Sarah Palin has the rare quality of connecting with people and she is a true conservative woman, not a half-baked imitation like so many Republican politicians, such as Lindsey Graham, John McCain. Yes, I know she endorsed him.....her mistake. Unless she also endorses Charlie Crist and denounces Marco Rubio I'm not going to be like some and proclaim her 'unacceptable' as a GOP presidential candidate. Then come out in favor of some no-chance but allegedly 'pure' politician that puts a tingle up the leg of those supposedly on the right who sneer at Palin and buy into the 'unqualified' meme the leftmedia are trying so hard to render 'common knowledge' by virtue of constant repetition.

I see the column by Mr. Weigel as a 'warning' to Palin (and her supporters) that should she decide to run for president in 2012, they'll be waiting to destroy her any way they can and I'm certain that would include sneaky attacks on her family, disguised as 'tips' from 'anonymous sources' about her husband, children and even her in-laws.

The left and their media water-carriers realize that Palin is a serious threat to their socialist agenda and the continued reign of Messiah Obama so they'll stop at nothing to take her out of the running. This snide column pretending that Sarah Palin has somehow received a 'free pass' from the media (95% of it Obama stenographers) simply sends a warning to Palin that she 'ain't seen nothin' yet' in the way of media savagery marshaled against her.

Fortunately, Palin is a fighter and best of all, she has truth on her side. She'll fight them - and win.
