I do realize many will read this post and not have any idea of what Im talking about,
but there will be those who full well know what Im talking about.
Over the loudspeakers comes the announcement Ladies and Gentlemen please rise for
our National Anthem. Surrounded by a crowd of thousands I rise, face Old Glory, stand
at attention, and place my hand over my heart.
The music starts, instantly in the most involuntary way, the sensation overwhelms my
body. I have goose bumps and the hair on the back of my neck is standing at attention. A
shiver like feeling goes down my neck. But this is not a new sensation, I have been
experiencing this phenomenon all of my life whenever the National Anthem is played.
The sub conscious national pride I have for our country and the pride I feel in being an
American involuntary invokes those sensations.
The other day, again surrounded by a crowd of thousands, the announcement came and I
rose, faced Old Glory, stood at attention, and placed my hand over my heart. The music
started and it took a little while before I realized a very strange thing was happening,
there were no goose bumps and the hairs on the back of my neck were not standing.
Instead my eyes were starting to moisten and I realized it was the sadness I was feeling,
sadness for the loss of freedom our country was enduring, for the loss of national pride
our country was exhibiting and sadness of my thoughts that our democracy was waning.
Try as I might, I could not intentionally bring on those goose bumps, nor could I raise a
single hair, for the pride I had once known had somehow escaped my body. I wonder
how this all happened, is it the passing of my lifes seventy years, the gradual wearing
down of our freedom, or was it some individual political event that robbed me of one of
the greatest treasures in life. I now fear more than even death, I may never experience
those sensations again.

You mean you don't faint or get leg-tingles at obama rallies anymore?
Think, treason trials and lots of public hangings.
Agree.
It’s still there. It’s underneath all the Obama assaults we have endured. But it will shine again.
I understand completely...
The National Anthem has bothered me more and more especially since Obama.
For me the National Anthem had always made me tear up, a prideful happy tearing, now I listen to each word and feel doubt and get an awful pit in my stomach.
I feel like we’re letting down those who came before us and those who will come after us.
Same here.
Your last sentence is the way most of us feel but haven’t put into words. It’s a very uncomfortable feeling and I think we’re going to have to fight it every day until???? I don’t know for how long but I expect every day we are going to be insulted and assaulted until something breaks!
I still get the same feelings I have always had that you describe, now more than ever. Our country in under siege but the words of the National Anthem give me hope that God will help us in our time of need. “gave proof through the night that our flag was still there”.
I refuse to let this fake President speak for me or for the country that I hold so dear. WE THE PEOPLE will triumph. And America is still that shining city on a hill..”land of the free and the home of the brave”.
Agree.
I ask you all to step back and look at your reactions:
“treason trials and lots of public hangings.
Its underneath all the Obama assaults we have endured. But it will shine again.
now I listen to each word and feel doubt and get an awful pit in my stomach.
I feel like were letting down those who came before us and those who will come after us.”
I submit to you that your reactions are exactly what the enemy wants. And I think we should reject it all. Obama can cr@p all over the flag and our national pride the way so many leftists have burned Old Glory over the years, and gotten our courts to say that’s “free speech”.
I say NO. I feel pride when I hear the National Anthem. And no amount of leftist BULLSH*T will ever change that. The pride will not shine “again”. It’s shining NOW. Why get awful feeling in the pit of your stomach? Because of THEIR treason? NO. OUR HERITAGE IS STILL OURS NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO. You feel like you’ve let down those who’ve come before and those who will come after? What did you do to let them down? Did you fight with everything you’ve got to preserve what’s rightfully yours? Won’t you continue to do so?
My only hope, after we retake the House and the Senate is to remember that WE ARE THE TRUE AMERICANS. And we treat those who support Obama accordingly by EXTERMINATING ALL THEIR POLITICAL POWER FOREVER.
My friends, FREEDOM ISN’T FREE. Sometimes it’s threatened from the outside and sometimes it’s threatened from within. But in every generation there are those who arise against us to challenge that freedom and we rise to preserve and protect it.
Far more than us keeping the faith, it is the faith that will keep us.
agree
I'm thinking heritage, the heritage that comes from the founders. And this revolution will not be an armed type. This revolution will be a returning to the basic Judeo Christion family princaples this nation was built on.
The TEA parties show the awakening that is taking place in America. Nearly half of those attending are democrat and independants.
When more patriots are voted into office, as will surely happen, BHO may make another first, the first American president to be tried for treason.
I used to get goose bumps watching the National Anthem on TV—years ago when TV stations actually signed off at night.
Not since Roe v. Wade.
When Obama is tried for treason, SOME (many?) will riot in the streets. They will need to be put down.
The media, then entertainment system, and the educational systems will need to be purged of liberals. They will not go quietly.
The revolution will need arms.
Those who oppose liberty will win unless they are made to stand down. There is no in-between or middle ground when everything you earn and love can be taken away because someone else envies what you have. Black or white, male or female, gay or straight - none of those things matter when compared with the tyranny that will crush us all if it is given the opportunity. And it always does so not in its own name, but rather by assuming the mantle of "fairness" or "equality" or "justice" with which to level achievement and deny the right of every person to that which they have earned by virtue of their own effort.
I myself will stand with any person who resists, and if necessary, fall beside them in the effort to preserve our birthright. I do not wish to live otherwise.
I understand completely. This is strange because, less than an hour ago, I was walking and saw a U.S. flag flying high. I realized that now, when I see the flag — instead of feeling uplifted and proud-— I feel sad. Just sad.
Obambi has awakened and united this country as never before.
For me it was Affirmative Action. The only thing it affirms is that the Constitution was not being followed and the SCOTUS is a joke, a bad joke.
He is doing the same thing to this nation as Saddam Hussein did to Iraq.
