Romney tops bestseller list, but with an asterisk (Many bulk orders, unlike Sarah's "Going Rogue")

Mitt Romney's new book has topped the New York Times bestseller list, but with an interesting caveat.
The Times has two "dagger" symbols next to "No Apologies," Romney's tome, indicating that "some bookstores report receiving bulk orders." One would assume that the multiple daggers indicate a higher quantity of bulk orders.
Such orders could come from conservative book clubs or organizations looking to boost Romney's profile.
As Taeggan Goddard notes, Sarah Palin's book topped the bestseller list without ever being accompanied by the "dagger."

Yeah, that pesky Mormon Tabernacle Choir. They are probably the ones that put daggers next to Ann Coulters NYT best seller too. /sarc
My guess is this tends to happen when books are distributed at large gatherings, and are purchased in bulk. This is not uncommon, nor is this the first thread on this topic, there have been several.

he’s using dummy organizations to buy his own books...
There's NO WAY that Romney has even 1-2% of Sarah's book sales numbers.
Gotta be some activity from the mormons, obviously.
Who else would by that book?

Maybe you should use ‘google’ and read about Palin’s bulk buys. Everyone does it, but heaven forbid you don’t have your boogeyman.

"Maybe you should use google and read about Palins bulk buys. Everyone does it, but heaven forbid you dont have your boogeyman." The New York Times disagrees with you, perhaps you should e-mail Pinch with your theory.

Here on the Gulf Coast there are all kinds of Latter Day Saints (LDS) congregations. Are you saying there are no Mormons in Detroit?

Nope. I'm a Palin fan as well though, much to your chagrin, I'm sure.
They both have their negatives and positives. I see no perfect candidate in 2012 yet.
