It means to me if you score and win act like it is expected. Trash talking, running up the score, cheap shots are not characteristics of winners and champions
That is what my HS hockey coach told us during that season we made it to the state quarterfinals. The team that beat us had 3 guys who played Div 1

Liberals call it “arrogance” when one acts according to established, God-given principles of freedom, justice, and truth. I do not trust the author of this article to understand what truly constitutes arrogance. His advice is hollow, who occupies a media pulpit and tells the ordinary man, in so many words, to refrain from asserting what is good and right so that he is not perceived as “arrogant.” I’m not interested in perceptions.
You’ve got a fine analogy, though, and I agree about upright character as an essential attribute when it comes to winners.
