There are allegations from many conservatives that Sarah Palin is not being treated fairly by the media.
No matter who you are or your political affiliation, you cannot deny the fact that Sarah Palin is electrifying. However, in her short time in the limelight, this up-and-coming Republican star has had more drama than the "Desperate Housewives" season finale (my wife makes me watch it).
The people of Alaska elected Sarah Palin as their governor after her humble beginnings. There is a lot to be said about being born in Idaho to a school secretary and science teacher. It can't get much more American than that.
As a father of two beautiful daughters, I think that Palin's presence on the political scene is inspiring. She defies the preconceived notion that as a woman you must choose between career and family. Do not get me wrong, I totally understand that this is much more difficult for a woman to achieve as opposed to a man. I have a wife and witness it every day.
Interestingly, I believe that Sarah Palin is an intelligent woman. So, why is she going around pissing people off? Let's look at the campaign of "Change," one of the most impressive campaigns in recent years. President Obama had many controversial issues in his past. But he presented a campaign about hope, and refused to include the controversial issues as his talking points unless forced to do so. So, why is Sarah Palin consistently discussing how unfair the media is and the double standard she has been subjected to? I am not claiming that her allegations are not credible, but with the limited time you have to address the public, why waste your time making these points?
As a law student myself, I can tell you that all law students participate in some form of legal argument. Throughout your preparation, you learn that your time before your audience is limited, and instead of simply relying on point-for-point retaliations, you should advance the discussion to effectively advocate your position. Therefore, Palin's time would be better utilized if she explained to people why she is something more than a reality star, like Heidi and Spencer on "The Hills."
The most compelling evidence that Palin's camp is steering her wrong is the immediate fallout between her camp and McCain's camp following the election. Realistically, Republicans never believed that McCain had a chance. But embarking upon a graceful campaign and uniting the party for the next four years was the goal. However, at the end of the campaign, Palin managed to even divide her party.
The American people are tired of the drama in Washington, D.C. (drama with Bristol's baby daddy, the photographer who released her photo to Newsweek, etc.). Palin's best option is to show the American people that she can engage in political debate without name-calling, mud-slinging, and polarizing the public. This polarization is different from the polarization currently present in Washington -- because the current game plan for Republicans is to just oppose anything suggested by Democrats/Obama (interesting, I wonder where Palin got it from?).
This is what it boils down to:
Round one will occur in 2012, which is when Obama will allow Joe Biden to resign and "spend more time with his family." Obama will then ask Hillary to become VP. The Obama ticket will then face a Republican ticket that will include Palin as VP. In my opinion, Clinton's reputation has strengthened since the Democratic primary. Clinton will crush Palin.
Round two will occur when Palin and Clinton face off as presidential candidates after Obama's second term. Here, if Palin is still explaining why America should not vote for Clinton, as opposed to discussing why America should vote for her, she will not stand a chance.
In conclusion, a piece of advice to Republicans, Palin fans, and Palin herself -- if Sarah Palin honestly wants to be in the White House, she needs to drop the drama and stick to the issues.
Leave the drama for prime time.

Sarah will crush Hillary. Hillary will forever be associated with this Marxist administration. The only way Hillary stands any chance is by getting out now
I know sarah would never have given a speech like Obama gave tonight. What a disgrace using the soldiers like that as a photo-op before he sends them off to a war he doesn’t want a victory in
Nice strawman. All Sarah did was mind her own business and return to Juneau to finish her term until the leftist vultures descended and tried to ruin her financially and politically.
Therefore, Palin's time would be better utilized if she explained to people why she is something more than a reality star
The author conveniently ignores Sarah's 16 years of political experience, the economic speech Sarah made in Hong Kong, the impact her Facebook page has had in derailing two key issues, the policy issues outlined in her book, etc. More pathetic attempts to "tabloidize" Sarah.
The most compelling evidence that Palin's camp is steering her wrong is the immediate fallout between her camp and McCain's camp following the election.
First of all, there is no "camp" behind Palin, she is not a declared candidate for office of any sort. Second of all, she had every right to clear the air about what happened in 2008. And finally, her and McCain remain amicable friends, unfortunately.
Palin's best option is to show the American people that she can engage in political debate
She HAS been engaging in debate. See, here's the thing that drives me bonkers. Her critics completely ignores her record and sets up a narrative of how Palin is so "divisive" when all of the attacks are coming in from her opponents. They're completely disregarding what Palin has accomplished.
Round one will occur in 2012
Hillary is not going to win because she is too old, she is the past, and people will see Obama picking her as it is - crony Washington politics. Furthermore Palin is not going to be anyone's VP anymore. The author, like so many others who criticize Palin, are completely wrong.
Sarah’s speech would have been delivered within 24 hours of the general’s request. It would have provided the 40,000 troops requested as well as a promise of more as needed. The speech would have been made in the oval office, not as a photo op in front of troops. Troops watching it on TV would have been inspired and eager to get deployed and would not have had difficulty remaining awake during the speech. The words “win” and “victory” and “evil” would have been used. Withdrawing would have been promised only after victory. And all would have been said within in a 5 minute speech.
A few of you have it oh so wrong about Palin and the media. She is not “complaining” about the media.
She is taking the media on.
I’ve been waiting for these GOP pussycats to do this for years. Nobody has done it consistently.
The only way to neutralize the biased media is to consider them the enemy and challenge the basis of their questions and myriad of misrepresented premises.
There is no campaign. She is not a declared candidate.
agreed except for thr 5min part. sarah being sarah would have used some of those great AK sayings. which would just make more of us support her decision.
I am so sick and tired of linguine spined Republicans rolling over for the MSM and democrats. Now one fights back and you complain. Jeez.
I doubt Sarah is going to take anyone's advice. I hope she doesn't.
Obama is not going to run again because he is going to come up against the birth/constitutional issues this time and he knows he won’t get away with pretending it does not exist. McCain won’t be there to protect him and lie for him anymore.
It’s going to be Hillary next time. That is why we should be talking about Hillary’s and Obama’s appology tour, etc. When discussing failure face’s failed foreign policy, we should never forget Ms. Hillary is his advisor - his Sec. of State.
Gov. Palin should get off the victim media thing now. Everyone who matters know what happened to her. She needs to get into popular policy ideas that she would like to give to the US if she were Obama. For example, she should have written in support of the Republican alternative health care reform offering and explained it to the public since the press won’t.
It makes the Palinites furious when I say these things so I will shut up now.
She'll be seasoned, hardened and battle-ready before anyone else even gets out of the starting gate. If they can't take her down now, they won't take her down at all.
I am a Palin fan, and I agree. Having a NYT Bestseller like Going Rogue somewhat negates the victimhood, even though it is quite real. It is an example of how she has/can overcome difficult situations to triumph.
Now is the time to get out there with common-sense policies which will turn this nation and our economy around, and emphasize those.
Hillary's gambit is to have Obama get the blame for the wreckage, while using the governmental infrastructure for her gain while "fixing it". Needless to say, there will be few substantiative changes with Hillary in office, but she has kept herself close to the seat of power while she gets her ticket punched.
Hillary will run on foreign policy, reclaiming the Democratic Party for "the working person' (organized labor), cleaning up the Oba-mess, and will claim she is more experienced because of her term as SoS.
Sarah Palin needs to start making conspicous moves to offset that and negate the apparent advantages it will give Hillary.
The first thing this guy got wrong was thinking that Sarah will ever run as a VP again. “If you are not the lead dog the view never changes.” (Sarah Palin)
The Second thing he got wrong was thinking Hillary could win against Sarah in a debate. Hillary does not have the charisma to stand on the same stage a Sarah Palin. Hillary would break down crying and say I’m in no way tard.
“A few of you have it oh so wrong about Palin and the media. She is not complaining about the media.

Exactly.
Hope to see it everywhere...
Clueless. More RINO garbage.
An idiotic scenario, to put it mildly.
As you can see in this very thread, one of them has been sniveling uncontrollably, re: That Daemonic Slattern Stubbornly Positioning Herself Between Beloved Saint Mittens and the White House all damned day. ;)
‘Saint Mittens’...LOL!
In one recent interview, I believe with Mark Levin, she referenced the "lamestream media". That was good.
