We sold threw the Czechs under Hitler’s bus in WWII, and we virtually ignored the valiant and pitiful Poles. Then, at the end of that conflict, we abandoned them to the Hell of Communism, from which it took decades to recover.
We don’t deserve the friendship of Poland and the Czech Republic, but they stepped forward and helped us. Now we have a Marxist president, and he couldn’t wait to hurt our formerly Communist allies.
Mistake. Big one.
I think you need to reread your history - Britian and France created a defense alliance with Poland, not the US. At the end of hostilities neither Britian or France was in any condition to make good on their promise to Poland. The US never had a formal alliance with Poland until recently. At the end of WWII, no one in the US was willing to fight the Soviet Union for eastern Europe. Remember, at the time (April 1945) we still had to finish Japan.
