I could understand Poland and/or Czechoslovakia wanting to buy tanks and/or anti-tank weaponry for fear of Russia, but a missile shield... What reason would Russia have to launch missiles at either of those countries?
The same reason for invading with tanks. Russia wants a return of the Soviet Union.
