It's the end. At least its the end of the "compromise" healthcare reform bill that was supposed to bring together Democrats and Republicans in a dizzying spectacle of bipartisanship not seen since Pearl Harbor. (I did not say "since 9/11" because I'm convinced a great multitude of Democrats were faking it). But, instead of that, not a single Republican is endorsing the bill and and now Harry Reid, the leader of the Senate Democra majority, says he will join his Democrat colleague, Senator Rockefeller, and oppose the legislation: WASHINGTON - No sooner than the Senate Finance Committee's chairman released his long-awaited health care bill today than Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said it's not good enough for Nevada.
Reid is concerned about the cash-poor state's inability to boost Medicaid spending as would be required under the bill. I seriously doubt Mr. Reid is concerned about the welfare of his state. More likely, he is growing increasingly concerned about polls showing that either of his potential Republican opponents would topple him in the general election next year. If that happens it would be the second time in as little as six years the Democratic leader of the Senate has been purged from office. It happened to Senate Majority Leader Tom "Puff" Daschle in 2004. It would be another stunning rebuke of Democrat leadership on this issue and shows us what a lightening rod ----

They always come to religion on thier death bed. Of course if he survives, he will recant moments after the election is over.
See? This is what happens when the fear of getting thrown out seizes the incumbent. His loyalty starts to move toward the people, rather than the party.
Tick...tick...tick
This will not please His Holiness the Dali Obama
The left wing is imploding. Just as predicted.
pass the popcorn
Don’t trust him!
The left is starting to realize there is an election coming up in about a year.
psssstt: i think it’s too late !
C’mon, he is political scum. He wants to include the public option. This is just political theater. A last ditch effort to force the public option (and massive inflation and taxes) down our throats.
Will all the union members and illegal immigrants understand that all this spending will cause economic decline AND huge inflation? Wait until they get a load of food prices rising 20-30 percent per year AND the don’t get a raise or lose their job.
I’m kind of happy with the way things go with the Senate leadership.
A new Democrat takes over the leadership spot, people get to see what the guy is really like and vote him out. Rinse and repeat.
It seems the people like the concept of the Democrat party, but don’t like the reality. They just can’t seem to make the connection in the broader sense.
Mostly due to media bias, of course.
Reid won’t give up the game the left may use new plan tag parts of the healthcare bill to other bills and in the end group them into one bill, the left will not give up on a fifty year plan.
Ya Know; The thing to do with this, is get on over to Dummies Underground and raise Heck DEMANDING that Harry NOT Abandon his fearless leader.
Harry and Nancy latched onto this Marxist Health Anchor from the start. The ship is Going Down. Make them Hang onto that Anchor for dear life fearing that their Own Dummies will vote them out if they let go.
Let’s make it a Clean Sweep and Enjoy the show.
DOESN’T MATTER HARRY!......YOU ASS IS OUT!
Hopefully people will see through this last ditch CYA moment.
“Dont trust him!”
BINGO!
I'm up here in the middle of this & I can assure you that they are not. And they won't unless we keep the fire to their feet. So keep the emails, letters, faxes, and calls going. Don't let up.
Reid doesn't want to drop the bill, he wants to modify it.
Could someone explain to us again why we need government intervened healthcare at all?
If "they" wanted to do something why not just some tort reform, and limiting the illegals to initial humanitarian treatment then back to wherever, to come through the front door properly?
We're not talking Harvard pseudo-intellectualism here.

I agree it is not over. We have to mount more pressure on the left wing to keep them off balance.
Reid talks about the nuclear option. If he trys, it will be over for congress. The next march on DC may not be so peaceful.
