Ok, I’ve had about enough of this!

As a REAL rockstar, I have had it with these morons being compared to what I do for a living!

I think we’ve had enough rock stars. How about we get public officials who SERVE with wisdom, restraint, and reliance on God?

Even if Ron Paul and his supporters were actually sane, he would still be too old.

This is truly an encouraging sign. While Dr. Paul may be too old to run again, he is surely doing a great deal to "pass the torch," as it were.

Thank you for posting this!

So you think that consistently looking to what the Constitution says, rather than the rationalizations of political opportunists, is crazy?

A truly cheap and ridiculous shot, which makes no point but to make you look cheap and silly.

Maybe you should spend another few weeks on Free Republic getting the lay of the land before suggesting to someone like Artemis Webb what he should be doing.

Personally, I think every politician who has the label “Rock Star” applied to them should be cast into a pit of molten lava.

Just my opinion.

The refrain that ‘Ron Paul understands the constitution better than anyone’ was the biggest turn-off of his candidacy.

His rabid supporters are the reason why he was never viable and never will be viable.

I’ll man the entrance to the volcano, you round the kooks up...

Well....people have also called Palin a “rock star.” At least, unlike some, Ron Paul never lets it go to his head.

“In keeping with his staunch libertarian principles”

If he was genuinely principled, he would run as a Libertarian candidate and not a Republican.

If Mr. Paul can kill the Fed Income Tax, The Federal Reserve, The Dept. of Education, the NEA and foreign aid, then everything else will fall into line.

The refrain that ‘Ron Paul understands the constitution better than anyone’ was the biggest turn-off of his candidacy.

I supported Ron Paul in the Ohio Primary, and attended meetings of other supporters. I never heard anyone justify his candidacy on a mere appeal to authority, such as you suggest. Everyone with whom I had contact was prepared to argue for his stands based upon reasoned arguments. I do not know where you are from, or what is the basis for your comment. You may have simply been offended by an obnoxious individual supporter. No one is immune from that.

While I may not agree with Dr. Paul or any other man on every issue, I have never heard him or read of his having gone off on a tangent.

He needs to run as a Democrat, not a Republican.

It is a two part problem:

1.) People who think politicians should be “Rock Stars” and refer to them as such.

2.) Politicians who feel that they ARE “Rock Stars” and should be treated as such.

I have equal disdain for both halves of the problem, but I have a special animus for politicians who subscribe to it.

What is the old saying? Politics is Show Business for Ugly People...

Ah, the good Dr. Ron.

1) Wants illicit drugs legalized
2) Thinks is OK for the government to withhold fluids of terminally ill.
3) Lives WAY to close the Austin.

Let him stay there and keep it weird. We have enough dope smoking hippies in washington already

His supporters were really obnoxious. Ron Paul won practically every poll taken but remained in low digits in every primary. Obviously they were slamming the polls!
