Leftists not straight when it comes to Palin (Bogus Legal Defense Fund Brouhaha)

You’ve got to hand it to them. The Democrats and radical lefties know how to hit below the belt. For the umpteenth time in a long string of dismissed complaints, a leaked investigative memo details that soon to be ex-Governor Palin may have traded on her influence for personal gain.

The report is so laughably shoddy and lacking in common sense. It lacks two important things: One, any mention of what Palin may have traded (in kind) for contributions to the defense fund. Instead, the report states that a normal individual wouldn't be able to raise money like that and “Were it not for the fact that she is governor and a national political figure, it is unlikely that many citizens would donate money to her legal defense fund.” Can you say CLINTON LEGAL DEFENSE FUND???

ANYONE? BUEHLER? BUEHLER?

So, not even an accusation of what may have been done in kind, simply the fact that private individuals are contributing to a legal defense fund for Palin to help her dismiss these complaints is enough to be an ethics violation. Lawyers from many sources are calling the finding crazy. As loony as many of Palins detractors is more like it. If it were, by the most infinitesimally small chance, upheld, no governor would be able to defend themselves against ethic complaints. Every politician has to raise money to hire a lawyer.

Secondly, the only penalty that might come about for this so-called ethics abuse? In the words of investigator Thomas Daniel: Stop taking the money. Not even a recommendation for a formal hearing. My guess? This ridiculous report, which may not even have been filed yet, just leaked from some yakkety yak liberal, wouldn't stand the light of day in a hearing. That's why he doesn't want it to get there.

If American citizens want to contribute to Palins Legal Defense, who's to say they cannot? Americans speak with their wallets. Some estimates say the fund has raised $500,000 so far. That's a lot of voice some Democrats and Lefties apparently don't like.

I knew why she resigned the day she did it. I actually HEARD what she had to say. It is only the idiots in the media who apparently need her to repeat it with sock puppets in order to understand. I am one of those proud donors who gave to Sarah’s legal defense fund and to her Pac. I will gladly do so again. If they send me back the money, I will send a check to Sarah’s house but will double the amount, and also send another amount to her Pac. Liberals want to fight, that’s fine, the more they trash her the more support she gets. Just like Liz Cheney told that blowhard James Carville on Larry King Tonight(Was shocked he was not covering Michael Jackson) she told him “Every time you bash Sarah, her poll numbers go up”

Can we say the OBAMA fund that accepted donations while he was Senator that he wouldn’t otherwise have received if he wasn’t a Senator. Its clearly an abuse of power!!!

what I don’t understand is why Alaskan Legistrators don’t put a stop to this. Don’t Palin have any allies left over there?

Who put states ahead of themselves? Paying the legal bills herself or getting the state to pay for it

The Alaska legislature isn't even in session.

Just as Sarah said in her speech, everything changed on Aug. 29 when she got the nomination. The reform coalition disappeared. Dems were angry and out to get her for going after Obama and RINO Corrupt Bastard good ol' boys smelled a chance to get even.

The majority of the people of Alaska are still with her but too many of them were asleep at the switch and didn't express their feelings. Just my take on it.

Too late now to fix this.

I totally agree. I listen to Eddie Burke, people call in all the time supporting Sarah and are very upset about what is being done to her, but they don’t do anything about it. They just sit back and watch their Governor get smeared and run out of office, then they call up the radio station and say how what happened to Sarah is awful, well, they should do something, she is THEIR Governor. But what’s done is done, can’t go back now. Sarah is having 3 picnics starting this Friday, from what I read they are expecting thousands to show up at all three events and Sarah is in the process of writing a beautiful farewell address. It will be sad to see, I know she will probably be very emotional because she loved her job so much. But now she can focus on fixing the Republican party and taking back the House and Senate in 2010. Then Sarah and all of us will have the last laugh

The head line on Yahoo says she was found guilty. Then you read it and see she’s not. That doesn’t matter to the lefties. Once they saw the head line it will be fact and no amount of arguing will do any good.

About the complain: A dem files an ethics complaint on her for using money to defend herself against ethics charges. This could on forever!

And she wouldn’t accept the money. What she should have done is gone to the fund for $100,000 to defend herself against this charge. Or tell Alaska’s democrat party that they can pay it!

I had the TV on earlier and there was a reporter from some station in Alaska on (KTUU?). She was saying that the reason other pols in other places could have legal defense funds and Sarah—or any other Alaskan official—could not was due to something specific in Alaskan law. I was busy doing something else so I wasn’t paying real close attention. Does anyone know what this lady was talking about?

I don’t know whats in store for Sarah but thats what keeps the story alive and kicking. The libs and Move On crowd are so Hell bent on destroying her that everytime they file a lawsuit or open their mouths it helps her cause and keeps her in the spotlight. It will continue....they can’t help themselves. They just don’t know when to shut-up and you gotta love that if your in the Palin camp.
