I remember you when you were a pro-life, small government conservative not a shill for flip-flopping big government baby killing socialists.

When was the last election a true conservative won statewide in California?

What is your plan on gaining control of Congress considering Republicans have to compete in the Dem states like the way Dems compete in Republican states. Your ideas will get you a dead party, a party in permanent minority status.

Arnold has not been a stellar success in California, but he still is a better choice than any of the Dem nominees. McClintock tried for statewide office in 06 but he could not get elected.
This shows that in states like California it is difficult for a pure conservative republican to get elected statewide and party needs to adapt to be competitive.

Romney’s health care plan can’t be entirely judged yet. If it fails, he’ll be the first to admit that it was a bad idea and is not an idea to be replicated on a national scale. I bet we hear something along those lines from Mitt when he’s campaigning in 2012. He sees the wisdom of ZeroCare going down in flames, and I bet he campaigns hard against it if it passes.

My point is that Mitt is no McCain. Almost everyone voted for Palin, not McCain. And I bet nearly every RDS Freeper on here was pulling hard for Romney last year. And if Romney, a competent executive who I believe can persuasively explain conservative principles, is the nominee then every Freeper should stand with him. Same with Palin, who the liberals fear even more.

Romney and Palin are friends of America. Barack Hussein Obama is decidedly not. Hell, we can’t even conclusively prove Hussein is natural-born.

Romney = A PROVEN losing backstabber.

:

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

And you can’t even conclusively prove Romney is a friend of America....

Name one patriotic thing that he has done for our country in his 60+ years...

(Patriotic as in not getting paid for his time, or as in laying his life on the line)

Here we go with the circular firing squad...

None of this is productive. You want one thing, I’ll give you three. He’s ran a state, a business, and the Olympics. He’s rooted in the cultures and traditions that made the country great. On the other hand, we have a president right now who has never ran anything and who has surrounded himself with Marxists and anti-Americans his entire life. He is culturally and traditionally NOT an American. Which would you prefer?

Get over your RDS. He’s a good guy and an extremely competent executive. I’m supportive of both Romney and Palin. They’re both pulling in the same direction.

Nice selective use of a misleading picture there, suggesting he was on board with McCain from the get-go. That picture was after the primaries.

I think Mitt knew the disaster that was Obama and did all he could to help McCain. As much as I hate McCain, I would have helped him if I was a national politician.

I was actually HOPING against long odds last November that we wouldn’t put the Manchurian Kenyan candidate in the Oval Office. I was more willing to oppose a President McCain when he was wrong rather than take America down the path to destruction. What was your hope? Do you admit pulling for McCain? Are you a liberal RINO?

See, it’s easy to play that game.

Rugged Individual (ROMNEYbot): "I think Mitt knew the disaster that was Obama and did all he could to help McCain.

WRONG. Romney helped Obama win against McCain Palin. It is a fact.
Willard "I am Myth" aka 'Brutus' Romney attacked Gov. Palin and her children.

Disgusting.

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Poor sport spoiler Romney attacks other GOP candidatesn:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

[Romney: A Mistake for McCain, 7/23/2008, Dick Morris]

Rugged Individual (ROMNEYbot): "He’s (scumbag Romney) ran a state, a business, and the Olympics."

WRONG. Romney tanked Massachusetts. He was a FAILING Governor. It is a fact.
Romney wiped out peoples' health insurance, and then demanded the State pay for it all.

Romney = tin-godQueen to all Illegal Aliens.

Romney got a "C" rating from CATO. And that was BEFORE
Romney's Socialized medicine and coverup of the BIGdig kicked in. So the RomneyBOTs try to "spin history".
Note also that Romney also betrayed President Bush as Governor
(predicting what TeamROMNEY would do later in Election2008 to Gov. Palin, and then the GOP - i.e. Spoiler Romney-backstabbing),
because Romney was also against the conservative tax cuts. Here are the facts from CATO.

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

I’m not a “Romneybot”. I prefer Palin myself. I like competent executives. And here’s a newsflash: McCain lost because he’s McCain. He only got close because of Palin. Whatever “rumors” were being spread were completely irrelevant to the outcome of the 2008 election. The Soros-manufactured crisis of September 2008 sealed the deal. Not frickin’ rumors.

And cite all the negative statistics you wish (I’m sure Mitt would have some stats of his own but I don’t care enough about Mitt to do a Google search), but Massachusetts is doing much worse under Deval Patrick. Many of the Bay State’s problems can be laid at his doorstep.

You speak so highly of Bush, but he routinely betrayed conservatives. At least when Romney took other positions years ago, he was campaigning against Mary Jo Kopechne’s killer. He would have done a great service to this nation by taking that pompous ass down. Whatever it took would have been fine with me.

My preference is definitely for Palin, but I think we would be fine with Mitt, too. Is that so damn unreasonable?

Pushing loser, backstabber, Romney as you do, makes YOU a RomneyBOT. Period.

Second, America lost because of Team Romney and their attacks on Gov. Palin and her poor, defenseless children.

Screw Romney.

Probe: Mitt missed chance to keep Tavares jailed - Could have nixed killer’s early exit

Friday, December 28, 2007 - Boston Herald
"Former Gov. Mitt Romney’s administration failed to act on disciplinary recommendations
that would have kept ex-con killer Daniel Tavares locked up another year -
and behind bars at the time he was accused of killing a newlywed couple in Washington state."

"Despite Tavares’ long history of violence, the Romney-led Department of Correction
took no action on recommendations that he be stripped of “good time” because
of assaults on prison guards in 2003 and 2005, said sources familiar with a state probe into the case."

Bzzzt. Wrong. The loss of the GOP Governorship to Patrick
lies directly at the door of Bishop Romney, who would not
even support the GOP candidate ... until she lost.

Screw Romney and his RomneyBOTs.

“The Massachusetts Republican Party died last Tuesday.
The cause of death: failed leadership.

The party is survived by a few leftover legislators
and a handful of county officials and grassroots activists
who have been ignored for years.
Services will be public and a mass exodus of taxpayers will follow.
In lieu of flowers, send messages to Republican voters
warning them about a certain presidential candidate named Romney.”
- Boston Herald, 11/12/2006

"In 2006, while Romney was chairman of the National Republican
Governors Association - a group dedicated to electing more
Republican governors - his own hand-picked Republican successor
as governor lost badly to the Democrat, despite the fact that Republicans
have held the governorship in Massachusetts since 1990. Romney largely
ignored the Massachusetts elections and spent most of the time
during the campaign out of state building his presidential campaign.
He came back and publicly campaigned for the Republican candidate
the day before the general election!
“Locally, this is a rebuke to Mitt Romney and checking out within six months
after being elected and having accomplished almost nothing,”

[Jim] Rappaport [former chairman of the state Republican Party]."

Its boring that supporters of liberal Romney are crying and moaning about how they are put upon....really really boring.

Wrong. Romney is not even my second choice. I’d take Palin, Jindal and Romney in that order. I just rationally conclude that we’d be in much better shape with Mitt than the Kenyan, if it came to that. I’d trust him, as an executive, to reign in Fedzilla since he understands what a pro-growth business environment is and how Fedzilla is not compatible with same.

There were plenty of people like yourself in the late 70s griping about a Hollywood actor not being conservative enough. That man was Ronald Reagan.

I also heard about that story. I think Mitt would admit the DOC made a tragic mistake. Whether it was a decision he made himself, I don’t know. I blame murderers for murders, though. I wish that couple had been packing heat.
