Another of the shooters mentioned (in this case no one was killed) shot through a barricaded door, wounding two police officers as they broke through it [in a drug raid]. Foster claimed he thought the house was being robbed. Fosters lawyer claimed, He didnt know they were police officers. I wonder whether a jury, if asked whether the conduct of the police in such a raid was "reasonable", would find that it was? Since unreasonable searches and seizures are illegitimate (the Supreme Law of the Land explicitly forbids them), a finding that police conduct in the raid was not reasonable would imply that the person shot a couple of robbers.

...had a look and bookmarked that list of pro-Second-Amendment organizations. Thanks again!
So were you EOD? We (12Bs) trained to clear hasty lanes a lot but not to clean up a whole place. ;-) IMO, demo (math, math, math, then ranges all day) and mines are some of the most boring things to do and teach. Fireworks and taking things apart were fun for us as kids, then Uncle Sam made us do it forever and ever. ...no fun any more. ;-)

No. We (NG unit, superior unit award) were called off within four hours of mobilizing to clear around a city over there for our assigned inf. brigade and were very busy getting ready at home at the time. Gens. decided that they wouldn't go into the cities at that time, so we stayed home. It was about all over then. ...back to lots of schools and public affairs stuff south of the border.

...went through initial training (OSUT: 13 weeks) at Ft. Leonard Wood during my 30s (crazy “old man”). ...in my fifties now and building a place on the Rockies over the next couple of years (away the grid and extreme cold, so extra building required). ...no more booms except for teaching the teens with very old fashioned (single action, etc.), big-bore firearms. They want to be engineers (real engineers, who design things to make and build—civilian type). They love old westerns, and the rancher neighbors keep their interests going.

It was a mess from our point. Aug 5 90 to May 20 91 ....run with ODA 591 out of FT Campbell for most of the working 100 hrs.
Retired in 94 with 21 years.
Miss it....

I do in some ways, but it's really nice to live in a high, dry, cool place away from the sweat, the bugs and all of that. ...good to be with family, too.

the VPC reviewed shooting incidents as reported by news outlets. This is the most idiotic argument VPC has used to date.
Gathering statistics by what the papers said is the same methodology they used in the '90s to claim "assault weapons kill cops", also claiming they were underreporting. Why they did the newspaper clipping instead of using the FBI which collates figures on all LEO killing was so they could "prove" a case not supported by evidence.

One of the finest asschewings/group motivation speeches I ever heard was at Ft. Ord, about 70 -71.
Seems a new guy to the local EOD detachment there called for a ride from the Greyhound Depot. Someone told him "take a cab".
Wrong.
The senior NCO doing the group counseling#39; said he'd have unit cohesion - unity - cooperation with his soldiers or life would become most unpleasant.
I often thought about that day when I was Watch Commander at the jail or Patrol Div. Served me well.

Now...That’s the stats I’d like to see.And how many of them DIDN’T have a gun?

Um....
Lovelle Mixon killed four policemen in
one day. He was a convicted felon who couldn't ever have gotten a legal permit for any firearm, let alone the AK-47 he used.
