Take a look at the latest polls. Medina made quite a jump after the 1st debate. Also, Belo is going to allow her to join the next debate. She will be a viable candidate and worthy of a vote, IMO.
Also, Belo is going to allow her to join the next debate.
Really, I haven’t seen that. I understand they were to have a demostration out in front of Belo’s offices today I believe.
A new poll by Rasmussen in conjunction with Fox Television stations shows Debra Medina now polling in the double digits while Rick Perry continues to lead Kay Bailey Hutchison by a 10 point margin. Numbers in parenthesis indicate the prior Rasmussen poll conducted in November 2009.
Poll of 831 Likely Republican Voters
43% (46) Rick Perry
33% (35) Kay Bailey Hutchison
12% (4) Debra Medina
11% (14) Undecided
Medina added to second debate for GOP Texas governor candidates

Great news for her if she is allowed into the next debate.
I took your advice and just checked the Rasmussen polls. They show: Perry 43% KBH 33% and Medina 12% as of today.
Also, it showed that Medina was 3% in Sept, 4% in Nov, I saw a poll that showed her at 7% a couple weeks ago.
With a good showing at the next debate maybe she can get some exposure and get up closer to 20%. Right now there is 11% undecided...
As it gets closer it will be interesting to see who she siphons off votes from. I think many of us suspect it will be more from Perry.
Just my luck. I am flying over to Florida on the 27th to visit my folks and go see the Glenn Beck/Bill O’Reilly speaking engagement in Tampa on the 29th. So looks like I will have to rely on thread comments and write ups for a report on how it goes....
In the mean time, I just donated $100 to Debra Medina. I want to hear a little more before I commit my vote, but I really like having her in the race.
I saw a post earlier or maybe a different thread where the person said she should go for a lesser office and pay some dues/get exposure type of thing.
I see that point, but also wonder isn't that where some of our politicians go wrong? In the process of paying dues/getting exposure they end up selling out little by little and we end up with another Perry or KBH.
Maybe we need to shoot for the moon and get a newbie in there. Maybe someone really raw like Medina is what it would take to shake things up.
I have seen a couple posts for Kinky, I guess that person has a similar thought about getting a real anti-establishment person in there. But to me Kinky would be a total freak show like Jesse Ventura was in Minnesota.
Kinky had his run as a GOP last time. This time he indicated he’d run as a democrat and didn’t make the show when White go in the race. I think he’s now over there in the AgCommish race. He claims he’s got a farm with a few cattle on it being run by someone in his family I believe.
In all honesty Texas with the weak Governor position could probaly stand a Ventura type as long as there is good leadership in the Legislatue and LtGov spot.
I saw it on the news tonight ... channel 8 out of Dallas ... a Belo station.
I feel the same way you do Buckeye. Dang, I’ll just be glad when we can have a choice we can all believe in. I think Medina is a rising star though. Maybe next time for her. JMHO. I was thinking about voting for Medina in the primary cause I’ll have to vote for one of the others in the general. Is that cutting off my nose to spite my face?
That is awesome news.
I understand your reasoning and why you have this opinion. But..I am sticking with Kay Bailey. I like Medina but agree with you. I am not sure she is up for the job...yet. Thank you for all the work you do with the ping list. I appreciate it so much.
He probably will, just to upset the apple cart.
He has no chance of winning anything.
Medina needs to get her face out there.

Once Bill White made the cross over to the Govs race Kinky decided he was a farmer/rancher and now has filed for the Ag Commish job.
Please add me to your ping list!
I will support Medina in the primary, and hold my nose for Perry if I must in the general.
Polls are not always what they seem. No more RINO's and no more politics as usual.
This is our state, let's take it back!
Better the devil we know (Perry) than the Devil we don't, KBH.
Please add me to your pinglist, Buckeye, and Thank You.
Eliminate property tax
Protect gun ownership
Secure our border
Restore State Sovereignty
Medina is the only choice for me............
Maybe not if their feet aren’t held to the fire..but they know HOW to operate and get it done. That’s being effective and knowing how to work things inside a political environment.
Debra Medina knows what conservatives want to hear and she is spooning it out there...but she is exceptionally weak in her ability to do more than split the tickets. She is less than ready when you see her background. Especially in the political environment and financial environment she’d be walking into.
Having a history of nusing and homeschooling though admirable in their place..is not sufficient for office in these times. We only need to look at the white house leadership and the state of our nation to see the havoc inexperience can create....and they had far more experience than Medina has.
Ping!
He asked her a simple question about a rumor that she may be a 9/11 truther. She stammered and hemmed and hawed and talked around the issue.
I was set to vote for her and have donated $100 to her campaign.
She just lost my vote with how she handled that whole interview.
