Vanity (?) This evening my wife answered the phone and told me it was the Republican Committee - for me. When i picked up I stated that I was not given any money because I thougth McCain was a travesty and that the way the Committee has been treating [Governor] Palin was an abomination.
The nice, polite fellow who called was obviously taken aback and responded with words to the effect of "OK, well thank you for your time".
I was a bit surprised that he did not have a response to my disgust with the party. I only wish I had thought to tell him I will contribute again when the party returns to conservative, Reagan-like principles.
I hope they get the message.
You see, when you said that about Gov. Palin and McCain, you were one of THEM.
I wonder who they hire to do those calls.
Someone that doesn’t really care what you think and
get paid by the call, I bet.
Last time they called me asking for money, I reamed them out about not being conservative (this was way before the election when they thought they had to beat Hillary.) They have not called me since!
Let’s hope they have the smarts to tabulate responses like yours and use that in setting direction.
I won’t hold my breath, though. “Smarts” isn’t a term I’d use to describe their decision-making process.
Feel free to deliver your message to the RNC in DC direct at:

I called on Monday and gave them my thoughts on their lack of spine and gonads.
You would have confused your interlocutor with vocabulary-builders, like the word “principles”.
What did the caller ID say when they called?
Good for you, well said. And those weasels need to hear it over and over and over.
Hi ExT
Thanks, I will.
The people doing the calls are either employees or volunteers. They are NOT debaters or advocates.
It’s just a phone bank employee you speak to, they probably tabulate that you declined funding Republicans...no specifics.
So, Republicans move more left.
With the Senate soon to have 60 Commies....you will see Cap and Trade, and Universal Health Care.
I agree. The way they are treating Governor Palin is a Travesty. No money to the RNC for me.
It most likely was a paid telemarketer who has no connection whatsoever to the RNC.
Whenever they call me, no matter how much I express my disgust with the Republican Party, they always come back with, "Well, Mr. (Eagle), I certainly understand that a thousand dollars is a lot of money. Perhaps a contribution of 500 dollars would..."
And then I hang up.
I have never given to the RNC. If there is a drastic situation, I have occasionally given a few bucks to the NRA-PVF and NRA-ILA. After that, I just vote my conscience.
You know, Rush has said on his radio program, that he never gives money to political parties, and if anybody can afford to, it is he.
I told the guy despite my rather extensive work and contributions for the GOP in the past, they wouldn't see a single dime of my money and that he was completely wasting his time.
They told me that I had contributed to the McCain campaign... I told them I actually donated to Gov. Palin. I've have little use for McCain.
They had better start listening or we are doomed to Obama and friends.
Stay in there Sarah, I'm counting on you.
I told the caller something similar - like fight the dims, don’t be dim-lite.
You were called by a telemarketing firm contracted by the RNC. You cannot expect those people to have any knowledge or responsibility.
