This is impossible!
.....well, the two million weren't standing around with their thumbs up their butts waiting for George Bush to personally come and carry them out on his back?
Amphibious school buses?
Because they wanted to stay in New Orleans and the political leaders who were more worried about the racial makeup of the city encoruged it.
Your post makes no sense whatsoever. It has no link, no subject, and no direction on what you are talking about. Either rewrite it or ask the admin moderators to pull it.

It is a vanity post.....based on facts all over the news.
It is a perfect example of why FR has gone down hill in the last few years. FR used to be a site that could be relied on to have lucid discussion, with intelligent citatiations and great discussion that you could use.
3 years ago, this post would have been zotted so fast, your head would spin.

Why should actual facts be considered bad? Is’nt this what actually happened? Millions crowded in to DC for Inauguration of president Obama. It is horrendously expensive in DC. A simple dinner meal costs $50. Yet people managed to get there, stay there, attend the inauguration and lots of parties. A good majority were blacks. Yet president Bush was blamed for inability of 200,000 people to get out of New Orleans after FOUR days warning. Makes no sense to me. This is a such a huge paradox.
You darn kids get off my lawn!!!!

“It is a vanity post.....based on facts all over the news.”
If it is based on facts all over the news you should have no trouble providing me with a source that says 200,000 African Americans stayed in New Orleans with Katrina coming.
Are you trying to imply that because they were black, they were incapable of an orderly arrival into DC from all over, because the African-Americans were incapable of an orderly departure from New Orleans in advance of Katrina?

Obviously you don’t know the power of “the one”
When “the one” says, “come” it just happens
Pres. Bush is just a mere mortal like you & I, BUT, “the one” has higher powers.
Didn’t you read that just having “the one” inaugurated improved black test scores tremendously. It was in the news just this week.
at this point he’ll probably be made a Saint Barack by next month
You want me to Google it for you? That news has been in every major newspaper, every major news magazine, every major TV news channels. This need for a link for news which is known world wide is illogical. If you have not heard that news, obviously you have not kept yourself up-to-date on news about Katrina.
Besides providing some link to a minuscule publication somewhere does not mean a darn thing. Just because there is some link to a article in a irrelevant publication hardly makes it a fact with certitude.
I live down here. I KNOW the facts. You brought it up, you show me in what MAJOR news organization or MAJOR news magazine it says that 200,000 African Americans remained in New Orleans during Katrina. You can’t because it doesn’t exist. People like you throw this crap out there and then when asked to prove it throw the old “google” word around. Prove it.
Just on the contrary, I admire the ability of blacks to gather in such huge numbers in DC in a very short period. The last time I was in DC was in mid-80’s. I had a hard time finding dinner costing under $30. God knows what it costs now. So I ADMIRE THE BLACKS TO PULL IT OFF.
My paradox is why 200,000 blacks were unable to move out of New Orleans after 4 days of incessant warnings.
Did you see how many people were crowded in the Super Dome?
It was packed! And people had to be rescued by helicopters and boats from their house roof tops.
The problem in New Orleans was less about the poor population and more about the incompetence of the local and state governments to deal with the looming crisis. They were frozen by the politics of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Blanco was more concerned about how the federal response would reflect on Bush, so she felt the need to double-check every step with the DNC before issuing orders within the state.
Nagin was just unprepared for the massive job ahead, and was unfamiliar with state emergency preparedness plans that were in existence at the time.

You throw up an unsubstantiated vanity post, then argue it with straw arguments, refusing to give an cites, and expect the FR population to accept all that you say as truth. That dog just do not fly around here.
A post, any post, has to be well written, fully documented, and be able to be defended by the author. This one fails on all counts.
