Not saying your wrong about that, but I believe that the Democrats aren’t as strong as they seem.

They are built on a house of cards. The got into power through finger-pointing, not through the strength of ideas. Obama became president through a favorable media.

That is a house of cards that will fall as soon as the media turns unfriendly. That may not happen in years, but it will eventually happen.

Unfortunately, even when that happens, I have little hope that the GOP will take proper advantage. They also lack vision, unity, and pricipled leadership (or the appearance thereof).

It will be an infuriating decade where Freepers are shouting about missed opportunity after missed opportunity.

I do think Repubs needs to lay low for awhile. Anything they say will be interpreted as shrill and negative. Filibuster only when absolutely necessary and only when they can win. They need to be very careful right now and recognize Democrat overreaching when it happens.

And so if Newt suddenly declares himself a member of the Conservative party will you feel compelled to switch to something else? Newt Gingrich is not the Republican party and I suspect you know it. Claiming to have switched because of something he said makes no sense to me — and, come to think of it — no sense at all.

I agree.

So what if Newt could win an argument about the Majic Negro song.

How would that help Republicans, or conservatives in particular?

Support or non-support for a stupid parody song is a determining factor in your party affiliation? I would just as soon that you tore up your voter’s registration card altogether.

"I thought it was when he failed to abolish the Dept of Education as he said he would in the Contract for America plans!"

The contract didn't say that.

100% of Newt's contract was kept.

The existance of fools who don't care to know historical facts (or any others) is the basis of our pathetic media.

And their bald faced lying is an example the weak-minded follow.

They’re all infected Washingtonians. But if you switch to a third party, you’ve just thrown away your vote, which thereby makes the infected Washingtonians even more powerful.

Anybody who thinks this is going to be solved at the ballot box is insane.

Theirs is an us against them mentality, and the political class will not be put down peacefully.

A military takeover and disenfranchisement of all except freeholders and veterans is the only hope of removing the socialist government from power and disrupting the stranglehold of their allies in the press.

You’re advocating a military coup on FR? Furthermore, half of your posts mention women voting. You can’t seriously want to disenfranchise half the population and call it just. Speaking as a father, I’d fight to keep my daughters from becoming chattel.

John Adams and Ben Franklin suggested women don't vote, you know, THE FOUNDERS, who knew more about history over 200 years ago than any of the imbeciles polluting our government today.

Women haven't been allowed to vote in America for longer than they have been, and since they have started voting they have been the margin of victory for the socialists.

Sorry if you can't handle the truth.

As for advocating for a military coup, last I heard that wasn't against the law.

Doesn't even have to be violent, I would love to see some patriotic American officers straighten out the mess in DC, the country would be better off for it.

Happens all the time, you should go study some world history.

One thing is for sure and that is the fall of this republic is in progress because the right to vote has been expanded to people that have no business voting.

Freeholders and veterans should have the vote, that includes women freeholders and women veterans.

Not single moms, the homeless, or people on welfare.

Smarten up.

What you are calling for is a military dictatorship...blood would be shed:make no mistake. This is not what our founding fathers intended...get over yourself. We lost; they won. Our day will come again...at the ballot box.

‘The Bronx Sucks’

Exactly the sort of response I would expect from some one who posts such over the top remarks...let come down to your level (1st grade maybe)-deep breath- Na, Na I’m rubber your glue.... Now I’m sure you can understand perfectly.

The founders weren’t right about everything. For example, even those who were opposed to slavery weren’t so opposed that they did anything about it. It’s fair to say that most were accepting of the practice.

And yes, advocating a military coup is illegal. It’s sedition, if not treason. Since you admit you’re advocating it, I’ve pinged the admin moderator to the thread to see how that fits in with FR policy.

And your idea of smarting up, ain’t. You’re not going to pedal your radicalism and misogyny as intelligence today. Not here, not with me.

The founders weren’t right about everything.

Of course not - that's why they put forth an amendment process (which, oddly enough, did not include giving judges the right to change the meaning of amendments to suit their own personal politics).

Sorry I didn’t realize I was talking to Gloria Steinem.

So I am a misogynist because I cite the Founders?

Pretty insane thing to say. Obama is giving out free mental health care, take advantage.

I also get steamed at these people who say Newt Gingrich is/was no leader -- they obviously have no idea how he managed to be in position to push his Contract With America ideas in the first place.

If it weren't for his ability to lead others, he would not have been elected Minority Whip to replace Dick Cheney when GHW Bush nominated Cheney to be SecDef, (and WHY that was possible as well), not to mention all those instructional tapes he sent out to prospective candidates for office when he was the head of GOPAC.

Rush has the right to be irritated, annoyed, even offended, I don't know how to properly portray his feelings, over Newt Gingrich's mis-characterization of something he was obviously ignorant on, but for people to then turn around and claim this is the final straw, well ... come on, already.

The song wasn’t funny. As for the author of this song, did he ever come up with “Clinton, the Magic Honkey”?
