Some interesting observation from the county votes in North Carolina.

TOPICS: North Carolina; Polls
KEYWORDS: anomaly; voting
I know Obama won this election convincingly. But, if you look at some states closely, they paint a different picture. Florida, North Carolina, Indiana , Missouri and even Ohio are closer than it seems. Just out of curiosity, I looked at how Obama won NC. He got roughly around 14,000 votes more than McCain where as Bush got almost 400,000 votes more than Kerry. Out of the 102 counties, each voted according to the previous election. Then, I digged a little deep to see how the counties voted. (Link here)

I got the current numbers from CNN. (Link here)

County Bush McCain Kerry Obama
Buncombe 52491, 52236 , 51868 , 69415
Cumberland 49139 , 51596 , 45788 , 73926
Durham 34614, 32040 , 74524 , 102237
Forsyth 75294 , 73304 , 63340 , 90712
Guilford 98254 , 97511, 100042 , 141680
Mcklensurg 155084, 152957, 166828 , 252642
Wake 177324, 183291, 169909 247914

The overall statistics of NC show some interesting trends. We see slightly more republicans voted and more democrats voted. Seems both the sides are fired up to show up. But, if you look at Bush and McCain numbers they are pretty much the same. But, the Kerry, Obama numbers are way off. Some are 50% more than in 2004. It is a statistical anomaly. How did the democrats increase drastically? Some of the possible reasons are

1. These counties must have colleges and universities and the srudents voted for Obama a lot
2. Obama regsistered new voters in these counties.
3. Possible ACORN fraud
4. Dems bussed voters out of states
5. The state machinery simply punched the remaining votes to the Messiah.

Can some NC freepers explain whether it makes sense? Did they see some unusual activity on the election day? Does NC check ID? I know I am trying to beat a dead snake. But, it will help us to identify how Obama took the state and help us build a strategy to beat him in his own game in 2012.

Heavy African American population that went beyond party lines to vote for the first black President? That plus college students would make a difference.

In Durham County the population is 40% African-American and has a huge student population.

African-American turnout and new registrations were enormous nationwide and Obama's people did a good job of boosting campus turnout.

The number is believable.

I know for certain that Bumcombe county closed school on election day because they were using them as polling places. Did other counties follow suit?

NC doesn’t check ID....with the ‘early voting’ fraud is way too easy...register and vote the same day...in places like Durham county as many times as you want....just keep giving them a different name at a valid address...it is absurd.

Halfbacks are part of the reason. They are messing up GA as well; and boy do they complain about stuff.

I live in Lincoln County, NC. Only ever saw two Obama signs ever during the entire campaign. I drive over 1000 miles per month. One of those went up after the One won. Course we were 60%+ for Mccain in a area that has seen significant influx of people from California, Colorodo, Mass, and New York. No reports from anyone waiting in lines at polling places, but the early voting was a big operation. I found it quite odd that on Nov 4th there was only one sign of each candidate where in the past it looked like Vegas at the polling places.

Lincoln county is one of those few counties where McCain's numbers actually went up.
Bush - 20052 ; McCain 23,561
Kerry - 9434 ; Obama 11,674
If the state checked IDs, McCain would have won it handily.

Your numbers are interesting. That does seem to be a lot of new Democratic voters in just four years.

We live in Durham and both of us did 4 hours as poll watchers. I did it the Saturday before and my husband on Tuesday. We didn't see a whole lot of problems during those times. I saw one girl get a provisional because she was listed as already voted. I heard about voting irregularities at other poll places and they said the Saturday before they brought in a bus load of senior citizens that they helped to vote. They said one woman looked comatose.

My husband said the Democrats knew exactly how many Dems were left to vote at the poll station. That is not illegal, but it shows they were better organized. We need to make sure to volunteer in two years to be poll watchers and judges. They definitely need more volunteers, especially with all this early voting.

Now as far as cheating, I would love to have a copy of the list of new voters. If the names were supplied by Acorn, then they knew exactly who needed to vote in which polling stations and anyone could say they were that person, even if person didn't really exist. There is no ID required to vote.

They do ask for ID when you register to vote, but two forms of ID is all that is required, one can be a driver's license or any other picture ID, and the other can be a bill or receipt at the person's address. NC allows illegals to get driver's license.

I don't know if Acorn is allowed to register new voters here, but I imagine it is like the other states and they can verify that they saw ID. I don't know about this, but I intend to find out.

What type of electronic voting machines were used in these counties?

I forgot to mention that people were allowed to register and vote on the same day during the early voting period. The only day they couldn't was Tuesday. So there was no way to check the information they presented for registration before allowing them to vote.

From what I understand, North Carolina is one of the few states that keep the paper ballot. Supposedly, they can track down a vote to the person registered, so from what I understand, it is possible to discount the votes if fraud is proved.

It may not help McCain, but it may help North Carolina Republican candidates for other offices if we could prove a large block of fraud.

In Durham County, we mark a paper ballot and it is fed into a machine which records the votes.

Thank you very much FR_Addict for your excellent insight. Now, it is clear that some kind of fraud might have taken place considering NCs lax registration policies. Obama campaign was smart enough to find the loopholes and work it to their advantage. In places like Florida, where they check IDs, they went hard after registering new voters. (BTW, they won Florida by a mere 200,000 votes). Now, it is upto the NC Republicans to take some serious actions like registering new voters, hiring more volunteers for the next election and so on.

This was the first time I volunteered as as a poll watcher. I intend to find out more about these new registrants. Are they real or not.

We have to get busy now to make a difference in two years.
I'm going to try and get more involved with the process. Now that the kids are grown, I have more time.

We need to stop Obama’s socialist agenda before it is too late. I figure we have to get the Congress back and the earlier we organize the better.

We need to get freepers involved in every state in the union and check the voting process for fraud.

I sent a list of questions to a a few NC Republicans about the process here in North Carolina and sent them the numbers you posted. So far, I received this reply about the questions I had:

“I wish I were an expert and could intelligently answer all your questions, but I do have some opinions. Maybe you can get more info from our Chair or Vice-Chair. I don't know if those numbers below are correct or not, but have no reason to believe they are not. I think the best way to verify them is to call the Board of Elections (560-0700 for Durham County).

Fraud is a great concern to me also, especially with the same day registering and voting. It seems they have “super simplified” the process so much, that anyone can vote, even if they live under a bridge. What concerns me most is that a person can vote in one precinct and then go to other precincts and vote again (either within or outside Durham County). I am a chief judge at my precinct and we are told that we are not to turn anyone away, that we are to allow people to vote a provisional ballot if their name is not in our book.

We have 3 people on the BOE Board (2 Democrats and 1 Republican) who determine whether or not to count each of those ballots. I just learned today that our lone Republican is in the hospital with a stroke, so it scares me to think of the provisional ballots being considered by only 2 Democrats and no Republican representative!

Yes, illegal aliens COULD vote, but if they do, they are committing a felony. The voter registration form clearly states that they must be a US citizen, but I have heard of people who do not understand English well enough to comprehend that. Out of ignorance or misunderstanding, some people have registered to vote (illegally).

Unfortunately, ACORN does not care if someone is eligible to vote and they do no verifications. They just want to get as many Democrats registered as they can. It will take a lot of research for the BOE to verify all of these people, although Mike Ashe of Durham County BOE did catch a number of them just before Election day.

Regarding your last question, I just don't know. We can hope that the election was won or lost fairly, but there are so many things that make you think otherwise. There are still a few races out there that have not yet been determined, but the Democrats somehow keep “finding” more ballots - for the Democrats of course - like in the trunk of someone’s car! How ridiculous can they get? We can protest it and we're called racist or some other names, so it seems we are just “watching” them steal these races right under our noses. I fear we have a very flawed system!”
