America’s Most Famous Community Organizer Unwilling to Organize His Senate Community
The Sundries Shack ^ | September 24, 2008

Barack Obama is one of a hundred US Senators. He’s drawing a salary, paid for by you and me, to be a US Senator. Right now, the US Senate is debating whether or not to dump over 700 billion of our dollars into a financial bailout plan. Obama’s campaign counterpart, John McCain is already heading back to Washington and has suspended his Presidential Campaign to work on the problem even though the Harry Reid, who apparently forgot that US Senators don’t give commands, ordered him to stay away.

So what’s Barack Obama, community organizer par excellence, planning to do?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Preparing for the debate in Florida, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama held a previously unscheduled news conference, arguing the debate should go on.

“I believe that we should continue to have the debate,” Obama said. “It’s my belief that this is exact time when the American people need to hear form the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsibly for dealing with this mess and I think that it is going to be part of the President’s job to deal with more than one thing at once.”

Obama said that unlike McCain, he will not suspend ads, or campaign events scheduled between now and Friday’s debate.

“I think it’s very important that the American people see the people who potentially could be in charge of this problem within the next couple of months and so my attitude is that we need to be focused on solving the problems, as I have been,” Obama said. “It’s also important that we communicate where we need to go in getting us out of the situation.”

Obama said he will stay in Florida for the time being and will not return to Washington unless asked by Congressional leadership.

“I’ve told the leadership in Congress is that if I can be helpful then I am prepared to be anywhere at anytime,” he said.

It should be noted that the debate on Friday is on the subject of foreign policy, not economics.

If ever there was a time when Obama’s community-organizing skills are needed, it’s now. He has been telling us for months how his community organizing chops give him just the right about of leadership experience to be President. Yet, when it comes time to step up and bring those vaunted skills to bear on a serious problem facing the country, he decides to sit it out.

Hope.

Change.

Cowardice?

Come on, Senator Obama. Earn your salary and prove that all your talky-talk is more than just idle gum-flapping. Get yourself to Washington and organize that community!

40 days? What an ignoramus.

The leader goes where he is needed; he does no stay away from the crisis and say: “Call me if you need me.”

Hurricane? “Call me if you need me.”

Ground Zero? “Call me if you need me.”

Obama is so lacking in fundamental knowledge of leadership qualities, he doesn’t even know how to fake it.

Barak Hussein Obama was quick to jump out with a news conference trying to make John McCain look bad. His solution to the crises was to put out a joint statement!! Wow!! That would surely solve the problem!!!!

The senator is getting paid by the tax payers & for 19 months has been absent from his job.

Like a spoiled child playing hookey from school - he was smug, sarcastic & made an ass out of himself.

So - in the end - the President called the hookey player back to work & he will have to eat crow & go back to work tomorrow.

I hope he remembers where his office is.

0bama voted “not voting” 101 times during 2008 and 116 times during 2007. Prior that he voted “not voting” only twice. He’s not been even trying to do his job for the past two years.

No one has been calling because they dont need someone who does nothing and sits on the fence and just votes PRESENT.

Hey Nobama, it is YOUR party that screamed Freddie and Fannie were perfectly wonderful organizations being run well...... Senator McCain tried to get regulations on them because he knew this would end in a train wreck.

Obama is a total zero when it comes to actually doing something. What a poseur!

The idea that such a puffed up underachiever can win the Democratic Party's Presidential nomination should be a bad joke.

O.K., so it is the Democrats...

Give him a break. They don’t teach civics in Indonesia....or maybe he plans to have a moving truck on Bush’s lawn on 5th (probably how they do it after a coup in Kenya). I’m sure NBC et al reported his error.

Thank you for writing my thoughts for the day. Well said. Why should we give anyone more responsibility when they ignore the ones they have already been given. Unbelievable, how arrogant, what a jerk! (Ask me how I really feel)

Obama likes to hear himself talk “words”. He does not want to take action because he would leave his fingerprint. He only wants to vote on sure things that would have a positive result for him. If he doesn’t vote and this solution fails, he can say “I told everyone it would not work...I was right”. If it works out, he can say “I knew it would work, because they followed the plan I suggested...I was right”. When you are president you have to be strong and take a stand. I also think he did not want to give up “studying” for the debates....I don’t think the President ever gets time to practice his answers and facial expressions before he reacts on a crisis. Obama is simply not Presidential material!!

“I’ve told the leadership in Congress is that if I can be helpful then I am prepared to be anywhere at anytime,” he said.

So this guy, who wants to be elected President of the United States, is proving his leadership skills by waiting for someone else to tell him what to do.

Even scarier is that he apparently doesn't see the irony.
