Thanks for the update!!!
[NOTE to 4woodenboats - You have been pinged on this post because you are mentioned below. See the Activist Information section. :-) ]
Dear “Palin Pingers”,
ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!! If it’s not one thing it’s another. Yes, I’m truly frustrated at the moment!
I’ve got a 6 mo. old Gateway Computer running Vista Home Premium with 1 TB Memory (can’t remember the RAM off-hand) and a Quad-Processor, and it’s decided to go batty on me in the last few days!
The blue screen of death has been making it’s appearance known quite frequently over the last few hours. Needless to say I’ve got to do some quick backing up of my computer, just in case.
I think I may have identified the problem, and I will be working through some solutions I have found online. PLEASE — cross your fingers, and definitely pray I can fix this myself. I’m not too keen on the idea of needing to bring my computer in to the shop! [Before anyone asks - yes, I have virus protection, spyware protection, etc... and my computer appears to be clean. LOL]
Anyway, I wanted to make sure you all knew what was up, and that I wasn’t “blowing off” my chosen volunteer responsibilities to this list. I’ve got SO MUCH information to share with you all, and it’s truly frustrating that things have gotten in the way yesterday and today.
In the meantime, please remember to use the keywords - there are a TON of great articles (and some pretty slanderous ones as well) that have been posted over the last few days.
IMPORTANT ACTIVIST INFO.:
One thing I’d definitely like to direct your attention to for a little activist activity is an article that was published in Salon.com today written by Juan Cole. He states in the title that the only difference between Palin and an Islamic Fundamentalists is Lipstick! It only gets worse from there.
EVERY SINGLE accusation leveled in this article is complete fabrication. The “facts” he cites have all been debunked by major MSM news outlets (how often does THAT happen?), FactCheck.org, and the McCain/Palin campaign (not to mention numerous blogs), and STILL he insists on writing this easily dis-proven tripe.
You can view an excerpt, and the thread here at FR: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2078316/posts
I would like to ask all of you - if you have time - to please consider writing a letter to the editors of Salon.com.
Please note, you will need to send an email as the “letters” function located at the bottom of the articles is NOT a letter to the editor link, and is only a glorified comment system (one which you’ll have to sign up for an account to post as well). These comments will NOT necessarily be read by the editors, or even the author presumably. However, emails written to the following address will (supposedly) be read by those “in charge”.
Here is what Salon.com publishes on their site regarding submitting letters NOT for publication:

Send a letter to Salon’s editors
To submit a letter to Salon that is not for publication, e-mail readermail@salon.com . All letters sent to this address will be read by Salon’s editors. We’re sorry that we can’t respond to every e-mail we receive, but we appreciate any and all feedback, positive or negative. Thanks!

Also, FReeper 4woodenboats, has suggested that others may wish to follow his lead and contact Salon.com’s major advertisers. One company which he has already contacted is Sprint. You can see the quick email he wrote to Sprint in his post here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2078316/posts?page=41#41
Alright, well I’d better post this before my screen turns blue again! LOL I hope you are all doing well, and I’ll “see” you all tomorrow, if not sooner.
Thanks again for everyone’s understanding. I truly appreciate it!
Take care & God Bless you & yours,
LibertyRocks
Good luck with the computer, Liberty. There is nothing I hate more than “computer problems!”
If you need any tech help, FReep mail me for my phone #. I’m up all night.
Thanks for the ping.
A little more info. about the Juan Cole/Salon.com column. He has also published this on his personal website/blog. Please see this URL: http://www.juancole.com/2008/09/cole-in-salon-whats-difference-between.html
You can leave a comment at his site, or email him directly at jricole@gmail.com
Thanks so much, KansasGirl. :-)
Thank you so much for the offer. I will definitely keep it in mind!
You’re welcome. :-)
Another advertizer that I'm going to write to is American Express, but I'm going to try to get that a little higher up the ladder by calling investor relations and findng a suit that will promise to read it (I also would rather get a response than trash my card!) .
If anyone has a list of slimeball sites and their advertizers, perhaps we could write a quick column for an analyst/commentator site such as "Seeking Alpha". I've never seen exactly that sort of letter posted by them, but they do post individual's take on a wide variety of market influences, so if we send them a brief essay on how destructive hyperpartisanship is to marketing product and reputation, well, ya never know.
Thanks for the alert.
850koa.com/Rick Barbor is interviewing a ‘reporter gal’, from Alaska.
She is evil..........and some of it is lies.
I hope that your computer gets fixed.
I guess Windows Mojave experiment isn’t working?
LOL... No, it’s not! My hubby caught half of that commercial before heading to work one day. He came home that night and told me, “Do you know they’ve ALREADY replaced Vista?”. I found the commercial on YouTube and played it for him. We got a kick out of it. Honestly, this is the first major problem I’ve had with this computer. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. I’m thinking something snuck in past my virus software or something...
You’re welcome, and you’ve been added. :-)
Good ideas for other activist “activities” in relation to the Salon.com article as well. The only thing these places understand is less revenue. Pressure from sponsors works wonders in getting some of these places to “shape up”.
I hope you enjoy the video I pinged you to.
UPDATE - September 10, 2008
Hello “Palin Pingers”,
Well, I didn’t manage to find the source of the problem with my computer, and it looks like my best bet is going to be wiping my main hard-drive clean and re-installing Windows.
I’ve been alternating between backing up my files, and posting keywords on Palin articles here at FR today. My computer doesn’t seem to mind doing the basics, but putting together a complete newswire posting seems to be beyond it’s comfort level right now! LOL So, again today there will be no new issue.
As I mentioned, I have gone through a lot of articles, and posted the “palinping” keyword on them. So, please feel free to use that keyword to catch all the latest...
Another thing I would like to draw your attention to is the wonderful 9/11 Commemorative Thread that FReeper DollyCali has put together. It is so important that we NEVER FORGET what happened that day, and what we are fighting against when it comes to Radical Islamic Terrorism. Please take some time tonight and tomorrow to reflect, and remember...
(Thanks to AFPhys for the ping to the thread, as well as many thanks to DollyCali for putting the thread together. There are some VERY powerful pictures, as well as some wonderful poems and tributes. Do be aware that the thread is GRAPHICS INTENSIVE).
Here is the link to DollyCali’s Thread:

Take care everyone, and please keep doing whatever you can personally to further the efforts of the McCain/Palin campaign, as well as the cause of Conservatism in our world. Every little bit counts!
God bless you and yours, and I’ll talk to you all again very soon!
Sincerely,
LR
Sept 5?
What’s up?
Nevermind, I’m now up to date!
See post #56 please — I’m having problems with my computer... Sorry for the confusion. I figure it’s easier to keep updating this thread than make a vanity post.
LOL... Looks like our posts crossed! Sorry for the confusion.
