The media is trying to inflate this latest version of a “Trooper-gate” into something akin to the Whitehouse Travel Office imbroglio, or the firing of all-but-one US Attorney’s (both Clinton doings). Oh, wait, the MSM said that that was no big deal!
I don’t like throwing mud at the Palins, but it should not be called “gang-rape”.
Thank you.
This proves that the left is scared of Palin. If Mccain has got a lightweight, the left would be happy and not worry about her, but the opposite has occurred and they are scared
Yep! This sudden manufactured poll shift yesterday is a set up for the pre-written headlines that will say McCain convention bounce evens things up again. When we all know Obama got little or no bounce from his over-priced convention, and McCain is ahead on many polls right now, especially in the important swing states and from Independent voters.
Someone said something similar on FR already.
Who will bring change to DC? A soldier and a mom or a couple of lawyers?
Great tagline! LOL
All things considered, I’d say that analogy is entirely appropriate. Disgusting rumors, wall-to-wall coverage of her daughter’s pregnancy, reporting on her husband’s DUI from 24 years ago, reporting partial stories to get the maximum negative impact (ie “Troopergate”) ... the list goes on. The MSM has thrown away any pretense of impartiality and credibility to get Obama elected and in doing so, has gone after the Palin family in a throughly biased and disturbing way.
After the convention I think Steve Schmidt of the McCain campaign, the RNC and friendly 527’s need to go after Obambi with the hardest hitting tv ads ever made on the following:
1) Ayers
2) Rezko
3) Bidens’s plagiarism past and the fact that his brother and son are in big legal trouble
4) Wright
5) The messiah’s plans to gut the military
6) the media’s outrareous bias against Palin and her family
7) Daily Kos
8) And, if it exists, pull out the “Whitey” DVD with Michelle
If Obambi/Axelrod/MSM want politcal war, fine, let’s give them what they want and kick their collective a$$es.
2. What President except maybe Washington actually was "ready" for the job?
Secret Service now has a toy to play with!
Same mentality and a far kinder description of the MSM than they use on Conservative Christians . . .
Well put!
Dangit!
Those PUMAs are starting to grow on me.....
Well, this cinches it for me. Two weeks ago I would have laughed at anyone saying I would vote for McCain. If the MSM is going all out to destroy Palin, it means she is worth supporting.
What in the hell would you call it? Lets hear your thoughts.
If the MSM is going all out to destroy Palin, it means she is worth supporting.
Palin to MSM suck it up boys and girls.
Why Not? Have you listened to the commentary over the last few days? It is said of rape that it is a crime of violence more than a crime of sex. It is a crime of depriving power from the person being attacked. Given the level of discourse I've seen, the tactic can only be called what it is - rape.
If ANY Republican ever suggested some of the things the media, the DNC, and their surrogates are stating as fact about Gov. Palin, they would be run out of town on a rail. The level (low) or discourse regarding the selection of Palin as our VP choice indicates to me just how afraid the dims are of her selection.
That they would stoop as low as I've seen is simply beyond the pale...
If I may add in just a little thought.... I am betting the author of Reply #3 meant nothing other than requesting a different use of words. While the use of words 'gang rape' may very well define the abuse the liberal individuals are perpetrating towards first Hillary and now to Governor Palin, anyone who has been personally raped, physically raped, or has had a loved one who has been raped will experience a different feeling inside than some others who can see this is obviously similar in many ways but who did not experience an actual gang rape, or even just rape first hand.
The sexism we are seeing from some of the liberal courts is much like that of the worst criminal element who belittle and berate women when they have the power and have the chance to do so. I think most of us can identify with that, probably even poster number 3 there!
However, just as we are reminded in everyday life to have sensitivity in our words and actions (I have told my kids that for 23 years now, far before it was PC), poster # 3's reponse was probably just a matter of an uncomfortable reminder of something that, while it may have the same roots and effect, may be a painful reminder to a personal situation that never made it to the public light on any national scale.
You are right Logical me, that what we see could be described as a gang rape. However, let's have the other side be insensitive, doing their abusive and offensive-to-women actions, and let's let OUR side show how much respect conservatives really do have for us women. You did not show any insensitivity, Logical me. I just wanted you all to be reminded of how long lasting the effects of actual rapes are. Sometimes even just words that seem to fit may mean something more than you would ever know.
Thanks,
casinva
