Obama/Biden: Same Old Change

OBAMA/BIDEN: SAME OLD CHANGE

I awoke Saturday to find Delaware Senator Joe Biden on the ticket. As I slurped my first cup of coffee and rubbed my sleepy eyes, the enormity of this began to sink in: The Agent for Change We Can Believe In just changed his motto to: "Same Old Change". I will not hide who I am in order to paint false pathos, to pretend (like Claude Rains in "Casablanca") that I am "shocked, shocked to find gambling go on" at Ricks Place, and feign that Senator Obama's choice for the person to be a heartbeat from the presidency displeases me as a conservative. Au contraire, I am pleased as punch because this one act shows that, more than all the other sanctimonious and condescending fine speeches the Presumptive Democratic Candidate has made talking down to us about the many terrible faults of the "Old America", the America of which his wife has never heretofore been proud, the America in need of "Change", the actual truth is that this whole exercise in "Change" is just rhetoric - lofty-sounding, well-scripted, wonderfully-delivered, but empty rhetoric.

I warned "my friends" (sorry, Senator McCain) who are Democrats that the Junior Senator from Illinois was just all hot air about his earnest desire to end the way we do things in Washington. It's just empty rhetoric without corresponding action. What is the first major decision he makes: Chose an old guard, establishment, insider senator from the great state of Delaware? Wow! Now that is a real "Change". What is "changeful" [don't look it up, it's not there, but it should be] about Senator Joe Biden? Nothing. Zip. Zero "Change". Senator Joe Biden has never done anything in all his many, many years in the United States Senate to bring about any "Change" whatsoever, except to run every four years for President. Can you name one accomplishment of Senator Joe Biden while in office, except to just to "go along to get along" and to survive? He is mainly known for offending people inadvertently (and sometimes in a rather clown-like manner) with a mouth that often runs off with his brain.

Was he picked because he is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee? Do you think so? This is about as transparent as it gets and it sends a clear message: Expediency wins over "Change" every time if your campaign is just empty rhetoric. I cannot wait until Monday to see "my friends" who are Democrats and to ask them how they feel now. Feelings are so important to Democrats. All of their candidate's lofty-sounding, well-scripted, wonderfully-delivered, but empty rhetoric just went flying off into space. Bye Bye "Change".

Was not Senator Biden in favor of The War before he was against The War? Uh oh! I thought it was "judgment that counted and not just experience". I am sure we will hear: "Poor Senator Biden: Duped like All the Rest". Can it be said that, in all his years in government, he once, just one time, bucked the Party Line such as to deserve part of a chapter, nay even a single paragraph, in a book such as "Profiles in Courage" wherein JFK highlighted courageous positions of public servants who voted their conscience against the Party Line?

Senator Obama should consider one more "Change". Bye Bye Biden.

You had me until the last line. Biden couldn’t be a better choice for McCain.
