Barack Obama believes you, the taxpayer, should pay for lawyers whose job it is to find slick legal loopholes to keep illegal aliens HERE IN THE U.S.
This hasn't received the attention it deserves. In pandering to his far left friends at National Council of La Raza the other day, Obama went off: "The system isn't working...when communities are terrorized by ICE immigration raids, when nursing mothers are torn from their babies, when children come home from school to find their parents missing, WHEN PEOPLE ARE DETAINED WITHOUT ACCESS TO LEGAL COUNSEL..."
Illegal aliens can have a lawyer, they just have to pay for it. What Obama means by people being denied access to legal counsel is they are denied access to TAXPAYER FUNDED legal counsel.
Deportation is not a criminal charge and lawyers are not provided at public expense to those facing deportation. If Obama wins, you will find yourself paying for lawyers whose job it is to keep illegal aliens here and gum up the system as much as possible. Enforcement, already not the federal government's strong suit, will grind to a halt, which seems to be Obama's goal if you look at his whole comment.
If youre for providing free legal counsel for illegal immigrants at taxpayer expense, why dont you just say so instead of creating some preposterous scenario to justify your position.
Failing to consider unintended consequences make for incredibly bad laws.
If you're for a 'cleansing' of the American population of 'undesirables' such as the poor and the uneducated, why don't you just say so instead of pretending you are merely seeking justice?
No!
No!
So you believe illegal aliens that can afford attorneys have more right to win deportation hearings than U.S. citizens that can't. Got it.
Crazy.
