Mike Huckabee: Women Should Submit To Their Husbands
Crooks and Liars ^ | December 11th, 2007 | Logan Murphy

Posted on 12/11/2007 12:18:05 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Huckabee’s opinion on gay marriage is out there, but we should also be publicizing Huckabee’s opinions on heterosexual marriage. Specifically, what he believes about a women’s role in a marriage.

In August of 1998, Huckabee was one of 131 signatories to a full page USA Today Ad which declared: “I affirm the statement on the family issued by the 1998 Southern Baptist Convention.” What was in the family statement from the SBC? “A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ.” Read on…

The Huckster is trying his best to hide his full gospel, but somehow I doubt this factoid will attract more women to his campaign. If you needed further proof that this religious extremist will set our country back even further than President Bush has, look no further. Of course, what do we expect from a man who lobbied to have a convicted serial rapist paroled for political gain.

UPDATE: (Nicole) BeliefNet has rated Huckabee a perfect 10 on the theocrat scale, but that’s still not enough to win over Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins.

Liberals are surprised that a Baptist minister agrees with his church's teachings and the Bible? I have a lot of problems with Mike Huckabee, but shouldn't a Christian believe his own religion's doctrine? Of course, Hillary/Obama will use this as a cudgel to beat Huckabee about the head and shoulders in the general election, which is another reason he is a liability.

No self-respecting Irish lady would put up with talk like that. ;-)

Huckabee doesn’t have a chance of getting elected, should he become the nominee. None.

That smart-ass remark just cost him 50 percent of the vote. He’s finished now.

As usual only half the story is given. I don’t care for Huckabee but to only quote what is expected of the woman and ignore what is expected of the man is a little disingenuous.

I tell my wife and tell my wife about that scriptural passage and she always counsels patience and kindness, as love requires, from me . . .

Yup. Might as well have a screaming headline, "Huckabee believes Roman-era Jew walked on water, raised the dead", or "Huckabee believes Earth 5000 years old".

When the tables are turned, and we don't just look at what Mormons believe, the NYT headlines don't look so hot no matter what religion you look at. That's why I don't think its right to get into Mormonism in the race, and I don't think Huckabee's religious beliefs are fair game, either. People only need to know that he is a fundamentalist Baptist, not examine all the ins and outs endlessly. That's between each man and his maker.

Tell me what Huckabee believes about the Law of the Sea Treaty instead, will you, you MSM propagandists!

The drive-by media has spent months building up Huckabee as "the nice republican" who "cares about the children" and isn't a "hatemonger" against "undocumented migrants" and their progeny. Now that he's left Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter in the dust, it's time to destroy him so they can make Rudy Giuliani the nominee that faces Hillary. That way they win no matter what happens!

Mike Huckabee: Women Should Submit To Their Husbands

As is fitting unto the Lord. The Bible also says, Husbands love your wives. Those two commands work hand in hand.

I don’t think anyone has been left in the dust. IMHO Huckabee is a flash in the pan. No one will need to tear him down once the whole truth about him comes out. He just is not a conservative and that is what they keep trying to sell him as. At least Rudy admits to his record and says he will change whether one believes him or not is up to the individual. Huckabee is whistling past the graveyard hoping his dirty little secret won’t get out.

This won’t hurt him with Christians who know the “WORD”. He is just quoting what the bible states. He doesn’t try and soft soap it for votes. I like that about him.

Read the husbands responsibility before you condemn.
