2007 Indianapolis City Elections - Candidate for City-County Council
Michael Jezierski

Posted on 01/28/2007 10:44:22 AM PST by Michael Jezierski

OK FReepers, a friend of mine pointed out this site to me, I've wondered what the heck Sean Hannity was referring to when he would say "FReepers".

I'm Mike Jezierski and I'm a diehard Republican living in Indianapolis, and I've had ENOUGH of the games and shenanigans the Democrat majority of the City-County Council and the Mayor's Office have imposed on the fine citizens of Indianapolis.

This will be my first attempt at an elected office, and some ask "What business does a political newbie have in running for office in the 12th largest city in the United States?" My answer is simple.

THE STATUS QUO IS NOT WORKING!

I am running for an At-Large seat on the Indianapolis Marion County City-County Council. My stands: 1. The primary function of local government is Public Safety. 27 days into 2007 Indianapolis has 8 homicides and about 16 carjackings. A State Senator was mugged in what is supposedly a "safe" part of the city. You know what? why can't the whole city be a "safe" part of the city?? 2. I believe government functions other than police and fire services can be done by others, with the city keeping a supervisory and quality control role. 3. Education is the key to everyone's success. I am a firm supporter of charter schools and school vouchers regardless of whether the recipient school is a religious based institution or not.

TODAY'S HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUTS BECOME TOMORROW'S PRISON INMATES!

What I can use is the support of the FReepers and especially your prayers. I have a website where I am posting items of importance to the campaign at http://mikejezierski.blogspot.com with a "DONATE" button set up so you may securely send a donation to the campaign using your credit/debit card.

My first challenge is the Marion County Republican Party slating. I will need support to show the Party that I am serious about my campaign, which I am. Slating is set for 9 AM, February 10th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 4-H Exhibition Building. I hope some of you local to Indianapolis can attend and support me in my campaign.

I'm Mike Jezierski, And I APPROVE this message!!

I just put my real name up there so people who would be local to Indianapolis would recognize it in the coming months. Not intending to "sock puppet" just wanting the name out there.

Yep I'm a FReeper and I'm d@mn proud of it!!

See most of you on the Hannity thread tomorrow.

If you're local to Indy there is a City-County Council meeting where they are going to vote on pay raises for themselves. A 75% pay raise!!!

Good luck to you...

...and if you happen to live in Perry Township, I might beg you to start your service here. We really need the help; it's a clusterfark caused by 4 power-hungry self-serving Democrats.

If you are against public funding of that disgusting monstrosity called "Lucas Oil" Stadium, you got my vote.

"If you are against public funding of that disgusting monstrosity called "Lucas Oil" Stadium, you got my vote."

Everyone thinks Peterson is a genius because the Colts are going to the Super Bowl. What if the Colts were battling with the Detroit Lions for 1st draft pick? Oh by the way there's another little tidbit to that deal that wasn't widely reported by the MSM - if the Colts fall below a certain number in revenue (in other words if Manning were gone and they became a stinker of a team) the City must kick in $$$$$$$ to keep the team from leaving town.

We are paying full bill for the stadium, and on top of that the Colts kept the naming rights revenue from Lucas Oil. At least when the previous administration sold the naming rights of "Hoosier Dome" to RCA the Convention Center authority received that revenue.

I think we should have received a better deal. I'm sure Irsay threatened to leave and move the team to Los Angeles. I doubt he'd received any better deals there. After all in California almost *EVERYTHING* must be put to a proposition. Though lately it seems the NFL is much in favor of awarding expansion franchises to cities that lose their teams - Cleveland and Houston for example. Other teams like the Cowboys are kicking in their own money to build their new stadium.

here in michigan we benefit from nfl team ownership that flaunts its own cash (with some public subsidies no doubt..)and builds its own stadium and doesn't have to sell the naming rights. problem is, they ain't so good at runnin football teams, and makin cars ain't workin out for 'em too much either lately. so go figure. at least you have a team that occasionally plays past december.
