The GOP leadership sold its soul and sold out its core constituency for the figurative 40 pieces of silver. Whats more, their apologists on this forum expect that all Conservatives should have followed lock-step behind them. Conservatism is an ideology, not a party. If the GOP wants the money, votes, and support of conservatives it must be conservative. We are not here to represent the party, the party is here to represent us. As Reagan once said of the Democratic Party; "it left me, I didn't leave it". Let's see if it can find its way home.
Since FR's count began, I have NOT posted a single thread; not a one. I think that I'm owed at least ONE vanity posted to News...don't you? LOL
"The Send A Message "Conservatives" sure be trying to spin their putting the Dummies in power!"
Don't put the cart before the ox. It appears as if "a lot of Conservatives weren't buyin' what Republicans were sellin'.."
Deal with it.
Yes, they are. And I, for one, am more than just sick and damned tired of them and their incessant whinging.
lol
The scumbag left lost a lot of currency (and credibility) when their boy Lamont got squashed like a bug by Lieberman.
Absolutely and in bold font caps!!!
Power? But he can't do anything in a vacuum. In order to exercise that power he will have to interact with the opinions of 50 other Senators. Those 50 will also have something to say about what happens. This will demand compromise on his part.
No, better to be in the minority. There you can keep your principles pristine, never have to compromise then, never have to defer their immediate implementation, because they won't be implemented. Because no one listens to you, you're in the minority. You're a loser.
"....the understanding that they will be paying the same increased taxes we are."
As if the bloated budget has no effect on future taxation. What a myopic view we have, hugh?
;-)
But I think it is an important subject. Mark Steyn took over for Rush for one day a couple of months ago. He was brilliant (what else is new), he was exquisitely funny, and he was so very, very pleasant. I think a guy like him would do wonders for our causes if he were on the radio three hours a day.

Go ahead. What's one more? Personally, I am sick to death of vanities but don't let me stop you, but please do not ping me. :)
I've only posted 11 (no vanities), about one every 9 months or so. Of course the real stalwarts like MadIvan and JohnHuang2 provide real service to FR.
Its interesting how you people make your presumptions.
1) I've paid my dues and have earned the right to question my party. I am a Vietnam Vet (11B30P) and have a Purple Heart.
2) I have been a registered Republican and have voted Republican in every election since 1972.
3) I am not willing to be sold into socialism just because it is by my own party and at a slower rate than the Democrats would do it.
4) If you think that these election losses will not initiate change in the party or that significant change would have occurred without them then you are dead wrong. The trend over the last 6 years should have been enough to convince you it ain't gonna fix itself.
5) It has been alluded to that I am a Michael Weiner fan - WRONG!. Savage is a fictitious character played by the counterfeit conservative Weiner.
well said (jmo)
I see that I have posted a truly grand total of *gasp* 78 threads!
Al.l of us are going to have to DEAL WITH it and it IS going to be as UGLY as Pelsoi's plastic surgeries.
You're good to go now! WOO-HOO!
If there's another Supreme Court vacancy, Bush will definitely send up some minority or another (woman, black, Latino) since he already got two white guys confirmed. Let the scumbag rats beat up on a few minority nominees for awhile and see what happens. Mostly we'll see if the Republicans have the guts to look the scumbag rats right in the eye and shout "rascist!" over and over again for all the world to hear.
The next Supreme Court confirmation hearings could be a beautiful thing.
