40 Pieces of Silver
Nov 8, 2006 | Self

Posted on 11/08/2006 10:53:50 PM PST by Natural Law

The GOP leadership sold its soul and sold out its core constituency for the figurative 40 pieces of silver. Whats more, their apologists on this forum expect that all Conservatives should have followed lock-step behind them. Conservatism is an ideology, not a party. If the GOP wants the money, votes, and support of conservatives it must be conservative. We are not here to represent the party, the party is here to represent us. As Reagan once said of the Democratic Party; "it left me, I didn't leave it". Let's see if it can find its way home.

Your crap is tiresome.

You're the exact image that was used to defeat the GOP.

Some Internet jockey who calls the free exercise of the vote "treason" because it was exercised in a manner that he disapproves of.

The voters rejected you.

Yeah, just like they did in Vietnam. The difference is that in 1975, the NVA didn't follow us back to America with single-minded determination to kill more Americans.

The jihadis will. The fact that some of the voters who betrayed our warriors will pay for that mistake with their lives is cold comfort.

So, in your Constitution Congress is the Commander In Chief?

They're the guys with the money. And they can mandate how the Commander in Chief spends the money--including on "bugging out."

I know, but they have to at least try and take a clear shot at 2008, and they will not be able to do so with a cut-and-run track record.

They're already laying down the groundwork as it's apparent in this article.

Wrong. Their base won't tolerate anything BUT cut and run. They'll just doll it up as something akin to "peace with honor." (That's Nixon-speak for "bugging out and leaving the RVN to the tender mercies of the Communists.")

Their "base" did not elect them anymore than ours lost it for us.

Elections are decided by the undecided.

No, ours lost it. The GOP base no-showed bigtime. They're trying very hard to spin it as if they didn't, now that they're realizing the magnitude of their f***-up.

"The GOP base no-showed bigtime."

BULL.

The center swung the other way.

Get over it.

>>That's Nixon-speak

Nixon's conditions were that he would resume bombing if the North invaded the South.

Watergate was used to cut his legs out from under him and made it impossible for this threat to be carried out.

Nixon was probably the last true conservative president this country will ever see.
