Yesterday Senator Debbie Stabenow voted against an amendment that would have funded construction of the fence and vehicle barriers that she voted to build in May. (S.2611, CQ Vote #126: Adopted 83-16: R 55-0; D 28-15; I 0-1, May 17, 2006, Stabenow voted Yea; H.R.5441, CQ Vote #200: Rejected 29-71: R 27-28: D 2-43; I 0-1, July 13, 2006, Stabenow voted Nay)
Debbie Stabenow says that she wants to secure the borders, but votes against funding the technology designed to protect our families, said Michael Bouchard, U.S. Senate candidate. She is saying one thing in Michigan, but voting another way in Washington.
Stabenow voted for an amendment to the Immigration Bill in May to increase the amount of fencing and improve vehicle barriers installed along the southwest border of the United States. (S.2611, CQ Vote #126: Adopted 83-16: R 55-0; D 28-15; I 0-1, May 17, 2006, Stabenow voted Yea)
But Stabenow voted against yesterdays amendment to the 2007 Homeland Security Appropriations that would have provided an additional $1.83 billion to construct 370 miles of double-layered fencing and at least 461 miles of vehicle barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border. This would not have increased the overall cost of the bill, as the amendment called for offset spending. (CQ Vote #200: Rejected 29-71: R 27-28: D 2-43; I 0-1, July 13, 2006, Stabenow voted Nay)
Senator Stabenow says that she gets it, but votes against securing our borders and strengthening homeland security, added Bouchard. Michigan families deserve a Senator who will do more than just talk about securing our borders. We need a Senator who will actually get the job done.

She voted for the fence before she voted against it.
Sound familiar?
"Sound familiar?"
Hanoi John Karry Mark II
She even one upped Kerry. She voted for it even while voting against it!
Yeah, she did. I wonder, does that amount to a flip-flop-flip?
There is this still from a Senate speech where she stands next to a sign that reads "Hopelessly Incompetent." That would be a nice touch to this thread.
Thanks!
If the Bouchard campaign has any smarts, they will use this clip in future TV ads.
Hutchison and Cornyn, Texas's senators, both voted AGAINST funding the building of the fence. Too bad we can only withhold our vote for Hutchison this year.
I really think that this could become a real reace in October.
I agree, Bouchard has real potential.
Debbie STAB-ME-NOW ping???
I'm from Michigan, but I hang my hat in Tennessee.
Please Wolverines, come to yer senses!!!!

This woman has got to be the most brain-dead Senator in all of the Senate.
IMO, it's time for the American voters to "take care of business." Face reality, vote out politicians that won't put our country, our freedoms, and our security first. Send them packing; back to the real world and the mess they created.
Well-stated.
Too bad we can't get the message out to the voters.
What exactly is the appeal of this woman to voters?
Actually I'm just guessing at that...
