On the quest to conquer the Hill, Tennessee GOP Senate candidate Ed Bryant made a campaign detour in Arizona to help a controversial anti-immigration group repair fences along the U.S.-Mexico border. Bryant worked alongside the Minuteman Project Civil Defense Corps on Thursday, repairing a cattle rancher's fences and keeping an eye out for border crossings.
"(The problem) with illegal immigration is not our Mexican border. It's in Washington, D.C.," he said. Bryant's swing through the Southwest was part of an effort to underscore his stance on immigration reform. In recent months, all three Republican candidates for Tennessee's Senate seat have taken a tough stance on illegal immigration.

"For someone of his caliber to lend his name to such an act is concerning. We expect of our senators a higher level of understanding of these issues. To side with such groups, especially such fringe groups as the Minutemen, is not a very smart move." Who writes this guy's dialogue, the writers for the GI Joe cartoons? The writer's a villain abusing semantics - we get it. Ed did this because he's a square guy making his stand on tolerating illegals plain. We need a lot more of that.

Concerning to who exactly?
Mexico or the illegals aliens that violate our country?
"We expect of our senators a higher level of understanding of these issues. "
Code for we expect politically correct BS from the Senator.
Not gonna happen dude.
"To side with such groups, especially such fringe groups as the Minutemen, is not a very smart move."
Smartest move any Senator, especially a Republican Senator up for reelection could make is come down hard on the illegal, laden with criminals, invaders of this country.
Only reason we have a Senate Amnesty Bill at all, is because most of our craven RATS US Senators are not up for reelection this year.

I'm sure we all know that D.C. is the real problem. However, it was a thoughtful thing for the man to do. After all, he coulda made a detour to Massachusettes and protested the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere...
