Six months before election day, Connecticut Gov. Jodi Rell has a 77 - 11 percent approval rating and leads either of her two largely unknown Democratic challengers by margins of better than 3 - 1, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Here are the important parts:
In the DemocRAT primary, Joe Lieberman leads Ted Lamont by 65% to 19%.
If Joe Leiberman lost the primary and ran as an Independent, he would poll 56% to 13% for Ted Lamont and 10% for the unknown Alan Schlesinger.
In a theoretical Lamont/Schlesinger race without an Independent candidacy, Lamont would lead Schlesinger by 25% to 20%, with 45% undecided.
They did not poll the possibility of ex-Governor Lowell Weicker running as an Independent. Weicker is currently backing Lamont.
With a 77% approval rating, she must never have taken a position on anything.
