Message from Rick Santorum

Dear Fellow American,

As I travel across my home state of Pennsylvania and the nation, I hear conservative after conservative voice the same complaint...

..."our leaders are increasingly betraying our values, our principles and beliefs."

Well, I can't speak for other conservative leaders. But I'm not afraid to stand up and let everyone know exactly where I stand on the issues...

I make it clear that I strongly believe that:

These are my heartfelt and strongly held beliefs. I am pledging to you today to use every second I have in Washington to fight and stand up for these beliefs! I can't do this without your support today. Please follow this link to make a financial commitment to my campaign so I can continue to fight for conservative beliefs and values.

The media often portrays Washington as "out-of-touch" with the common man -- and indeed, far too many in Washington are. But I consider myself to be in fact, just that, a common family man. And frankly, that's exactly why I am number one on the liberal Democrats' and radical special interests' hit list for defeat in 2006.

My opponent, Bob Casey, Jr., is one of the most well-financed and heavily backed liberal Democrats running for office in 2006. He is hiding from the issues, and the liberal media bias and many liberal groups are protecting him. Bob Casey Jr., will vote to raise taxes, restrict Second Amendment rights, appease our enemies, erode our family values, weaken our military and deny us our liberties.

Sadly, too many Pennsylvanians are unaware of this stark contrast. To win, experts estimate that it will take a minimum of $50 million to overcome the Casey money and smear machine. Please, make your secure online contribution today to ensure that every voter can compare my beliefs with the true ultra-liberal agenda of Bob Casey.

Thank you and God bless,

Rick Santorum

P.S. The liberal Democrats have nationalized my race because they desperately want to take down an unabashed conservative Republican like me as a launching pad for their retaking of the Congress and the White House in 2006 and 2008. But, with your support, we can stop them cold and show other Republicans that they have nothing to fear by standing up for our conservative values, so please, help today.

From Rick's website:
Rudy Giuliani Comes to Town for Rick

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani joined Sen. Santorum in Montgomery County today at a special rally with first responders and supporters to express his support for Senator Rick Santorum as he campaigns for reelection to the U.S. Senate.

At the event, Giuliani and Sen. Santorum discussed national security and the importance of keeping strong, experienced leaders in the U.S. Senate. Mayor Giuliani said, "I am pleased to be here today to support Rick Santorum. I have known Senator Santorum for some time, and have always been impressed with his integrity, candor, and commitment to getting the job done. We live in difficult times and now more than ever, we must keep strong and steady leaders in the Senate. Leaders who take positions, and stick with them regardless of polls. Leaders who aren't afraid to speak the truth and tell it like it is. We need more leaders like Rick Santorum.

"Experience matters and commitment to our nation's future matters. And Rick Santorum is dedicated to these principles. On the critical national security issues that our nation is facing -- keeping our homeland safe and the War in Iraq -- Rick Santorum is the right leader representing Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate."

Sen. Santorum said, "It is a great privilege to share a stage with Mayor Giuliani, as I know that each of us in this room admire the Mayor's leadership. He demonstrated the strength that was so important to helping a wounded country heal.

"The security of this country is a top priority for me. The federal government has a responsibility to protect its people, and I have and will continue to support policies that give our nation the tools to prevail against the most dangerous of enemies. I am working now to pass the Iran Freedom and Support Act, which would foster democratic change inside the Islamic Republic of Iran. I am also committed to the public release of millions of documents recovered in Iraq and Afghanistan, helping Americans better understand our efforts there. Furthermore, I will continue to work so that first responders in Pennsylvania and across the nation are equipped with the tools to ensure the safety and security of Pennsylvanians in times of need."

Why did he back Specter? Specter is not pro-life.

Why hasn't he been speaking out about issues these last few years? So he can coast on into re-election?

He backed Spectre because he's a fellow GOP senator. And there's a lot of speculation that part of that deal was that Spectre, as Judiciary Chairman, would push through several conservative judges. Which he did.

Coast? You're apparently not paying attention. Which might explain why you think Santorum's not been speaking out.

He has a target on him, as you say, but I pray he will survive! It will not be easy. There are very difficult times ahead.

I've noticed something in the polls of late. It looks like Republican Senate Canidates are starting to rise. I think it is possible the GOP will pick up a couple Democrat seats. I suppose we'll have to put off the Democrat revolution for a few more years.

Rick Santorum is a great conservative and should have the undivided support of all conservatives but I've argued myself blue in the face with a couple fo PA Freepers who just hate the guy because he supported Specter. Talk about cutting off your nocse to spite your face!

Yep. If Pat Toomey doesn't hold a grudge, then it kind of weakens that argument.
