Good advice also, I never minded the times it's a pretty good paper but I'll try some other magazines because Time is just a waste of money at this point.

Really? I know the liberal media was being blatantly pro-Kerry during the last elections, only untilt he American people saw through the lies of CBS, CNN, and NBC did FOX's ratings begin to skyrocket.

I love how the media remains silent about all the disgusting things Saddam Hussein did (Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988; The al-Anfar Campaign aimed at exterminating Kurds; The Osirak Nuclear reactor the Israelis took out in 1981, the invasion of Kuwait 1990, and the systemic slaughter of all political dissident he could lay his filthy hands on)

Oh yes let's not forget good ol' Qusay forming the Fedayeen loyalist brigades in 1995, which became a loyalist militia that would murder anyone who dared speak out against Saddam. As well as Hussein's support for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The liberal media was prepared to let all of that slide to bash Bush on his military record and make stupid Bush jokes.

lmao I love how the New York Times dubbed Afghanistan "Vietnam II" before troops even invaded. The media in our country is so full of crap that they can't see the facts beyond their own partisan agenda.

Thank you sir, origionally the forum format was weird to me but now it is easier to use, I'll be around for awhile more. To explain where my beliefs fall in line I am a pragmatic Republican, so my opinions might differ a bit in that I support the premption policies much more than others. But I'm pro-George Bush, pro-life, pro-Iraq & Afghanistan Wars, etc... so I'll probabaly fit in as far as politics go I hope. :)

Welcome to the forum.

The tipoff that you were new was when you said "I ordered Time thinking I'd get a fairly moderate magazine".

It wasn't me and I can take no credit for the good work of some of the folks here. You'll find people of different mind here on various issues and some very learned ones among the more common sense voices of Americans but you will find a deep love for the country and its institutions and place in the world as a beacon of freedom.

So welcome aboard.

Further proof that Time made the correct assessment of Mark Dayton:

Ron Carey, chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota, said Monday that Time's recognition "represents a fitting end to a term marked by bizarre behavior and far-left ineffectiveness."

Senator says he gives himself an ‘F’

RENVILLE — If U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton, D–Minn., was to grade himself on his accomplishments in Congress, it would be an “F,” he told students Thursday at the Renville County West High School in Renville.

Wait what's up?

Good question.

As far as moderate mags go I can't think of one. All the newsweeklies have a liberal bias, and the conservative opinion mags obviously have a conservative one.

You might consider taking a subscription to the Wall Street Journal. The editoral page leans right and the news pages lean left, although the bias is usually hard to pick up.

but some senators were great. Newt Gingrich and Ted Stevens being good examples.

Gingrich was never a Senator, and Stevens played a big role in making sure Clinton didn't get expelled from office after his impeachment.
