Republican state Senator Bob Beers, running for governor, has renewed his challenge to the front-running GOP candidate, Congressman Jim Gibbons, to join in debates in all 17 Nevada counties.

What a tired bunch of bravo sierra. I didn't know there was a Governor experience meter out there. But you of all people obviously know the best. We'll leave it to your discerning taste in Gubenatorial selections to pick our next Governor.
I don't see any reason to elect a man that was passed up by his fellow party members in Congress. That, and I mean that, is the only reason he's running for Governor. If he doesn't get passed by in Congress, then he stays in D.C.
Nope. It's Beers for Nevada.
We're working on Reid. It's hard to overcome the liberal Clark County. That's where he wins. He loses in the rest of the state, but because of Clark County, it makes it difficult to get rid of these libs.
Yeah, you've got some union problems in Vegas, but you also have a lot of Californicators that are moving there and trying to turn it into California.
In short, liberals moving to Vegas to escape California taxes and then turn it into a socialist mecca.
I agree.
I met John Ensign and Bob Beers when I lived in LV. They are both good men.
Sounds like New England.
Vermont and Maine used to lovely states, with bedrock American values.
Then Flatlander dweebs from the wastelands, Brooklyn, Taxachusetts, and Rhode Island started showing up.
They're in the process of dismantling the Granite state as well.
I never understood the logic behind fleeing tax and regulatory hell-holes, only to recreate the same circumstances in your new home.
I was at a McDonald's across the river from Harrisburg, PA and some young lady manning the counter mentioned she was from Nevada. I talked a bit about Las Vegas and she gave me a stern look and said, "Clark County AIN'T Nevada !" That was back in '91.
She's right. Clark County is its own entity within Nevada. It's a whole other state when leave it.
Thank you, ss.
I understand that those ACU ratings are rigged. The lawmakers are given notice as to what will be "scored" and they vote favorably on those matters. Otherwise, they are free to cavort with the moderates and liberals as they choose.
BTTT
I imagine some of the Californians who have moved into Nevada are good Republicans who can't stand what our state has become. They should be welcomed.
Dawn Gibbons seems to be running on a country-club, inoffensive platform that ignores the red meat.
Any chance for a real conservative to win that congressional primary?
Jim Gibbons should be an improvement on Kenny Guinn,
but I agree that he seemed to show a lack of leadership when he wouldn't take on "Searchlight Values" Reid. He could have beaten him.
Assemblywoman Staron Angle is the conservative in the race.
Any chance she can win?
Yes, there is. She's competitive with both Dawn Gibbons and Secretary of State Dean Heller (who is the best-funded).
Sharon Angle is endorsed by the Club for Growth, hence she must be a great candidate.
She has a chance, then.
Who does Heller take votes from?
I know that tourists have a major effect on Nevada politics, but can they vote? And is that akin to putting your cards on the table?
