Elizabeth Dickinson, a member of the Green Party, trails Kelly by roughly 1300 votes.
In 2004, Kelly bucked his party by endorsing President Bush for re-election. even before Kelly's endorsement, the St Paul DFL was looking for a more liberal challenger to Kelly.
The top two vote-getters will advance to the general election in November. Kelly came from behind four years ago to win the mayor's office but will defijnitely have his work cut out for him between now and November.
Too bad, I like Kelly. A very pro-business kind of guy.
Kelly's support is on the right. We don't vote in democrat primaries (which this essentially is). Voter turnout is about 10%. Kelly's supporters will show up in November.
The chicken littles will show up any time
Too bad I had my money on Jacob...lol
Some good news in Nashville's election tonight: The mayor's big tax hike got shot down over 2 to 1 against.
Living Saint Paul, I got to vote. Voted for a Republican School board member and for Randy Kelly. Just trying to do my civic duty.
Also, we don't know which precincts have been counted. Considering the high Green turnout I'd guess they're mostly in anti-Kelly areas.
And, BTW, has anyone seen Mpls results? No one to root for there (not even a Republican on the ballot), but there are certainly many to root against.
Well...Lib-Dems are known to do that to there own people when supporting a good cause ...I should know..see my name
