MEMBER HOUSE OF DELEGATES 67TH DISTRICT
votes
Total Ballots Cast: 2481
Chris S. Craddock (R) 1650
Gary A. Reese (R) 818

Woohoo! If this holds they've taken out a RINO who voted for the tax increase! Gary Reese once was a conservative's friend when he served on the Fairfax County School Board. I wonder what happened when he went to Richmond.

Hi, Ligeia: agree on Gary Reese .. worked with him when he was on FCPS board and he was easy to work with, a decent guy ... guess Richmond didn't do well for him, too bad :(

also sorry for Connaughton .. I think his campaign got taken over by the "powers that be" in Nova and that hurt him. I am NOT, however, sorry for the "powers that be."

I went to the polls at about 8:00 this morning (Hungary Creek MS), on the way to work. I guess about a dozen people had already voted; from the looks of things most of those were poll workers. There was only one other voter there at the same time. We didn't have any local candidates. Only the three statewide races.

With 96% of precincts reporting it looks like it's going to be

Kilgore
Bolling
McDonnell

And Byrne for the #2 D slot

L L Byrne 13,698 33.47%

J C Petersen 8,953 21.87%
P P Puckett 8,802 21.51%

This is GREAT news. NO way Leslie Byrne can win statewide. Moderate Republican Tom Davis beat her for his House seat. She will not play well in southside Virginia.

great contrast on Lt Gov. The "moderate" Republicans insisted that Bolling couldn't get elected because he was too conservative .. haha, does anyone know how LIBERAL Leslie Byrne is ??????? Byrne only got elected to the State Senate because of a GOP split ... we had a pro-choice Republican woman who was challenged by a pro-lifer, splitting the Republican vote. I can't IMAGINE Byrne winning statewide. I think it's going to be a very GOOD November :)

Two Leslie Byrne threads I have bookmarked:

A bill would let Fairfax County prohibit its residents from sleeping in rooms other than a bedroom

Va. Senate passes bill that would let county limit sleep to bedrooms

To be completely honest - I know absolutely ZILCH about any of the D candidates for LTG

I liked Bolling candidness when he said (paraphrase) Of course I want to be Governor and anyone running for LTG who denies that goal is lying

OMG That was Byrne?????????

I remember that idiocy from when I still lived in Delaware - it got lots of laughs in my circles.

I'm too tired to make sense tonight.

Awfully glad to see Craddock & Golden won.

Should make the national news.

This is my district. Three solid conservatives here. Whoever takes it will be easy to support in November.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a political junkie for as long as I can remember - when precincts reporting gets to the 98-99% line I generally will call it a night........LOL

I've only been doing the statewide races - I don't know enough about VA toknow where even 5% of the delegate races are :)

Thanks for keeping the thread updated.

Glad to see that Kilgore won with more votes than even voted in the RAT primary.

Glad to be of assistance.

289 Rats voted in Accomac County and 566 good guys!!!! for a grand total of 2.92% of registered voters.

Like I said earlier - it was such a non-event here media wise as to not be funny and telephoning and mailings were
also non-existant.

that's why I'm LOVING the result of that election ... Byrne was lucky to win in Fairfax ... cannot IMAGINE her winning anywhere else. Her win last time was just 'cause of the GOP split and she's now tossed that out the window after one term to run statewide?

I was visiting the state site for turnout and it is so sad, really... 4% is embarassing. People can't bother to read up on who's running, what they stand for, then complain in the Fall about the choices.
