LITTLE ROCK (AP) -- Asa Hutchinson and his supporters took a campaign mailing by Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller as their cue to fire the first major salvos in the 2006 Republican gubernatorial primary campaign.

A major Rockefeller campaign mailing repeatedly emphasized the billionaire lieutenant governor's anti-abortion bona fides, and Hutchinson, a former congressman and Homeland Security undersecretary, responded by saying Rockefeller was trying to shift away from his previous support for abortion rights

I found this both startling and impressive:
Rockefeller has said he once supported the abortion rights granted to women by the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, but changed his mind some time between 1998 and 2002. He said he shifted his stance because of his Christian faith and because he has two children with Down's syndrome.

"They are a living example of the importance and sanctity of human life," Rockefeller said Thursday.

Is there some reason why Hutchinson, who passed up on challenging the vulnerable Blanche Lincoln in 2004, should be rewarded in 2006 for his cowardice?

Not sure. It may have something to do with his appointment as Under Secretary of Homeland Security. He had just been appointed at about the time he would have had to launch a race for 2004.

With CAMPAIGN Issues and QUESTIONS for the CANDIDATES!!!
Besides them trying to SQUIRM out of answering any direct questions on ABORTION--

I myself ( and I hope YOU folks do TOO!!!) plan to start ALSO ASKING at perspective Candidates Rallies,

" WHAT IS Y...O...U...R...STANCE ON THE UNITED NATIONS TRYING TO PUSH WORLD ABORTION RIGHTS!!!??"

I know I am not as active as I would like to be in knowing ALL I can about various candidates stances--and I am normally NOT a " ONE ISSUE " Voter--but when it comes down to ABORTION--I want to ask those Conservatives WHO I LIKE and would CAMPAIGN FOR right now to make sure they very EARLY in their campaigning TELL ME / make SURE OF thatthey are AGAINST and will CAMPAIGN/VOTE against ANY United Nations move to start/support ANY UNIVERSAL ABORTION PROGRAM: HERE and EVERYWHERE!!--because THAT is what it WOULD INCLUDE!!!---HERE in AMERICA!!

Two things I can't stand!!:

the United Nations,

and

ABORTION!!

Just a thought--because I " WAS " going to campaign for a Republican over here for the Senate UNTIL I found out he was a PRO-CHOICE WEASEL!!
