(Note: I'm going to send out a fundraising email to raise money for George Nethercutt who is running against Patty (ossamamomma)Murray for US Senate. You are welcome and encouraged to use this email or any derivation there off for your own fund raising efforts.)
KENNETH FOLEY: USAID Representative
On October 28thth, 2002 Kenneth Foley was shot dead in front of his wife in Amman, Jordan by assailants who are now believed under the direction of Ansar al Islams Al-Zarqawi. Mr. Foley had a 40 year career working in public service starting as a Peace Corps volunteer in India in 1965. At the time of his murder, Mr. Foley was working for the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) program which is the US governments organization that builds schools, roads, hospitals and other types of infrastructure in third world countries on behalf of US taxpayers.

US SENATOR PATTY MURRAY (D-WA)
On December 18th, 2002 standing before an assembly of high school students, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) made the following statement:
"We've got to ask, why is this man (Osama bin Laden) so popular around the world? Why are people so supportive of him in many countries . . . that are riddled with poverty? He's been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that.

Not surprisingly, Senator Murrays quotes were widely praised on websites espousing Al Quaeda propaganda and caused a minor backlash in the US press. As part of the damage control, she retorted she was only trying to be provocative and get students thinking why the USA was unpopular in other countries. Twisted Socratic teaching methods aside, her statement is recognized by most people as wrong both in her assessment of bin Ladens benevolence and her ignorance of the scope and scale of aid provided by the US government and its taxpaying citizens. In either case her statement is particularly infuriating given that she was either unaware or unwilling to acknowledge that a USAID officer had recently been shot down in a foreign country while carrying out the very acts of philanthropy she would attribute to international terrorists.
Congressman GEORGE NETHERCUTT: (R- WA)
Senator Murray is up for re-election in November. Her opponent is George Nethercutt who is a Republican Congressman from Washington. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, left wing, right wing, political or apolitical is not the point in this election. If you want to stop someone that cannot understand the deeds of our enemies - let alone that of our Country - from rejoining the US Senate then I encourage you to make a financial donation to the Nethercutt campaign. I have spoken with the people in the Nethercutt campaign they are taking out of state contributions.
You can learn more about the Nethercutt campaign at the following link. You can make a contribution by credit card by clicking on Contribute on the lower left hand side of the webpage.
